That's a clear transfer drop......

I think the transfer drop was because it wasn't a good catch… if I'm USC, I challenge the catch.

A pitching lab would have prevented this

This right here. And, if we can convince Vitello (who looks unhappy in MLB and will undoubtably return to the SEC soon) to come here (banking on his old mentor Dave Van Horn sticking around at Arkansas), you make the move. When an upgrade is possible, you do it. Be cutthroat, or get your throat cut.

Had he been forward of the plate he would have had him

He may be out at home, but we don't have nearly good enough view.

WTF!!! Bear wasn't even covering homeplate properly.

He should have been on the front corner of the plate.

He was behind the plate.

Bear was playing it like it was a catch and a tag play. Not a force out.

Regardless of force. Bear was way too far back. If he's forward by two feet it's an out. We are just in shambles.

We have six outs. This isn't over. I'm just seeing a flat team.

They'll probably review the whole play and then decide LF didn't make the catch so there's only one out.

Yes, I know that's impossible but would be par for the course.

Well, it was pretty clear it wasn't a catch. Surprised to see them keep the calls consistent honestly.

But yeah, would not be surprised for impossible shenanigans at this point. Because why not

Fair weather fans man. You don't just replace a guy like schloss and go right back to where you were, especially in the way he left. Early has shown major improvement year 1 to year 2, why can't he get even better? Why are we turning on a guy who lost his best pitchers to injury? This team was going where it was despite the pitching staff, we knew that from the moment the season started especially after sims was done. Unfortunately, we lost last night in the first inning basically, and tn, the bats didn't show.
He will get better. The question is do we really feel that we were a program that should be in a position to give a rookie coach 5+ years to learn on the job?

We let this go any further and we're going to be in a position where we CAN'T make a good hire

I want to move on, but I doubt it happens.

Well, not eventually. But when he thought it was a drop, he positions himself for a force out. But on a sac fly, he has to give a clear path. He was positioned for the tag play. There's really no way to fix that on review, unless you send the runner back. If he had been tagged out, they would have sent him back, I bet.

The season turned when Duer went back to the field

You can't blame the poor play of Duer for the lack of hitting for the rest of the team.

The coaching carousel is kind of our thing.

Not really we hang onto average baseball coaches way too long. Don't Johnson and Childress ring a bell

He was still back too far. He had to lean forward after catching the ball to even get his glove to the slide

Meh, this is the year we were destined for. Little in terms of pitching and hitting that doesn't show up in the clutch. Been the story all year….
..The history of the world is that of religion. Violent faith, in either God or Man has shed an endless river of blood. It is not a matter of what you can live without, but which allows you the freedom to be indifferent..

Not a chance of that happening.
With what we are losing and this coaching staff and pitching staff we will be sub 500 in sec play and may likely not make a regional.
We have nothing coming back close to replacing what we are losing production wise

Mississippi State hired a guy that on paper is a straight upgrade over Schloss, and in practice looks pretty damn good rn. No reason we couldn't have pursued him.

Except for all the players threatening to walk if they didn't get their way like a bunch of union employees. The difference is, businesses don't cave to unions the way we did to a bunch of 18-21 year old employees. They decided who we hired, no one else.

Just an awful end to the season. Losing 2/3 SEC series, 0-1 in Hoover, and getting run out of our own regional with the only wins coming against mid majors.

Not sure what you watched. That was clearly a catch and transfer drop. Maybe 30 years ago it wasn't but those rules have changed.

Let's be honest. This team is not disciplined. They have so much talent but their ABs aren't disciplined, the fielding has been decent but not enough when it matters. Then there's inconsistency. You never know what you're goin to get and unfortunately it's hard to win games consistently with that kind of play

Every Ag on this thread supports this team and would be ecstatic if they somehow found a way to win, and is rooting for that to happen..

Most people are realistic with their comments about the makeup of this team too.

Both things can be true.

If you are an SEC team with money and access to talent you'll be able to hire no problem. Assuming you're willing to spend on NIL of course which allows you to turn over an entire roster at will.
