Unfortunately, there's too many that worship Aggie sports these days to have any sort of reasoning ability. And the acceleration of gambling hasn't helped.

Mississippi State hired a guy that on paper is a straight upgrade over Schloss, and in practice looks pretty damn good rn. No reason we couldn't have pursued him.
Except for all the players threatening to walk if they didn't get their way like a bunch of union employees. The difference is, businesses don't cave to unions the way we did to a bunch of 18-21 year old employees. They decided who we hired, no one else.

I would argue that A&M has far too may fans who are ok with the constant mediocrity or just above average play in its major men's sports. They prefer to just shower adoration on their players and coaches just because that chose A&M.
