Arizona beat Oklahoma

I am really impressed with our Okie State transfers - Micaela and Tallen. They are both at or close to the top in the hitting categories in the stats (sortable):

Micaela can flat out hit the ball hard. Really hard. Tallen just goes after it. In the field, at the plate and on the bases. At the end of the season will we say, "darn, why can't we have them for another year or two ?!"

I know it is early and Tech is the only major program we have played but the numbers for the pitchers look really good so far. Team ERA of .090. 47 SO and only 2 BB. That's an insane SO/BB ratio. These numbers will be entirely different at the end of non-conference and the end of the season but they are a great early sign.

Thanks for the Robert Cessna story. I, and many other Ags, have been reading his stuff for a VERY long time and I have always enjoyed his work.

After the sips beat Nebraska the other day I saw the Huskers beat them in their next game. Checked it out:

Nebraska vs sips, Saturday Feb 7. Huskers won 8-5, all Husker runs via HR.

Nebraska in the 1st inning - Frahm homered to center field, RBI (off Hannah Wells, their Super Freshman)

In today's press release Coach talked about our road games record not being good her first years. I recall losing many games on the road we should have won but did not recall the numbers so, being curious, checked out the win/loss numbers the past three years on the road ...

2023 - Away 8-9, Neutral 8-6
2024 - Away 10-11, Neutral 7-2
2025 - Away 12-2, Neutral 8-1

She was also asked about ... Taylor B. !! Said she just could not fit her in this past weekend though she planned to but she will see action this year. She DID redshirt last year so there is lots of time but I can be impatient at times and I really want to see her get some innings. Hopefully sooner rather than later!

What are the current ideas of separate threads for tournaments and such? I think most want them. When will each thread be created (how many days before start)? And who creates each thread? Clearwater starts Friday morning so might start today. Some rough ideas of naming below but really anything that includes the name of the tournament, series, etc. will be cool.

As an intense baseball fan and a casual softball fan, I think your thread ideas are good. That would definitely help me know where to look and how to catch up on softball games without having to wade through a long running softball season thread (which I also read, but on a different time frame).

I like the one per weekend thread. I think we did that last year. I can create each Thursday evening once all the links for streams and statbroadcast are up to date

I'd like to see a thread for each of the tournament's mentioned.
I think softball needs to claim more threads than just the Aggie Softball Season thread.
I'd also like to see a thread for each softball series each weekend. Obviously, Softball needs to be in each title.
i'd also like a thread for each mid-week game.
Titled, as an example, like:

*********Softball: LSU @ A&M Series***********
*********Softball: Louisiana at A&M thread************

I agree. A separate thread for each tournament, each weekend series, etc. is nice. Then having a long arching season thread for overall team/season talk.

I was even thinking about a separate thread for other important SEC/OOC games, that could be by date or a single yearlong thread:

the only reason for more threads is to try to establish a need for a Softball only forum........
the sneaky way to do it would be to try and ask Trisha to ask BL for a Softball only forum just as Jamie did for Volleyball. I mean, if it works, don't fix it, right? Maybe she'll see this?

I too vote for separate threads. I'd lean towards single thread for the weekend (tournament/series).

It might also be helpful to link each game thread in the season thread. I've seen people get excited and start flooding the season thread with in-game commentary in other sports so it would be one way to direct that to the appropriate thread.
