This!! Was just commenting to Hubby that these blowout games aren't what we want to see in the postseason. Games should be close and intense.
the games have been great this weekend.

You are allowed to block every inch of the plate if you clearly have the ball. You can't if you don't.JDay said:
What is the rule?
shall not be considered a violation if the catcher blocks the pathway of the runner in a legitimate attempt to field the throw, (e.g., in reaction to the direction, trajectory or the hop of the incoming throw, or in reaction to a throw that originates from the pitcher or drawn-in infielder).Aggie_Fire said:
c. Unless the catcher is in possession of the ball, the catcher cannot block the pathway of the runner as he is attempting to score. If, in the judgment of the umpire, the catcher without possession of the ball blocks the pathway of the runner, the umpire shall call or signal the runner safe. Notwithstanding the above, it shall not be considered a violation if the catcher blocks the pathway of the runner in a legitimate attempt to field the throw, (e.g., in reaction to the direction, trajectory or the hop of the incoming throw, or in reaction to a throw that originates from the pitcher or drawn-in infielder). In addition, a catcher without possession of the ball shall not be adjudged to be in violation if the runner could have avoided the collision with the catcher (or other player covering home plate) by sliding.

Dutton threw a full count pitch high and tight for a ball. Thought it was a strike and threw a bit of a fit about it. That fired up auburn fans
Couple pitches later, throws a curve in a little high, auburn fans thought it was a strike and started losing their minds
Both were 50/50 and werent the worst calls ive ever seen. Im guessing this homeplate ump has been bad all game
