Although losing 2 guys (2024 pitchers) to Mini sucks, it led to me doing some research on "the other guys" (not the movie).

I wouldn't sleep on the Grand Oaks boys. Barnhard throws gas. He's mid 90s now and has hit 100 mph when going all out. He works hard. The book is that Barnhard looks more like a reliever/closer right now because he loses velo over longer outings. He also needs a 3rd pitch (change or curve but best bet is a change). Right now fastball/slider. If anyone's a Cortez type, maybe along with LeBlanc, it's Barnhard. He's moved up some boards recently. Real improvement over the last year.

Tomlinson has good velo, sitting at 92-94 in starts with an easy delivery and has gotten up to 97. One scouting report on his fastball - "big spin and teeth and will jump over barrels". Appears a little more well rounded/developed at this point as a potential starter type than say Barnhard. Curve and change can be good. Continued development with command/control of his secondary pitches is needed.

Two righties to go with the 6'5 lefty, Cooper Williams. Cooper sitting low 90's to 94 range in his starts but his secondary pitches are already really good and he can fill up the zone. Command and control good. Scouts also think he has real velo upside with his frame. Need to get him to campus and keep little Weiner away.

I think the Grand Oaks boys have already reconfirmed their commitments since the coach change.
