He is an immediate upgrade over Martin Maldanado.

So the question becomes does Tanner think he can improve his draft stock with one more year of college baseball.

Brauny mentioned on premium that he had heard this weekend that Tanner was signable at almost any amount if offered.

Brauny said he was very open to teams that he was signable. So don't expect him to return.

Will Turner? Risky pick since he's stuck in the Caribbean somewhere. Maybe Davy cut a deal.

Mike Earley's balls weigh more than Maldonado's batting average.

Massive run on college pitchers at this point. We're in the ranking range of Camarillo. Will be real interesting if he comes back.

It used to be you had a full year.

I'd say the more pressing decision is how long would Earley hold him a spot. At some point, I think classes become the question.

So Sawyer Farr was projected way before this, so could we assume that he made it clear he wants to go to college? Sure want him here!

I think the question would be more about eligibility. If he only has one more year if eligibility... he has more negotiating power now.

It used to be (before NIL) baseball players didn't stay their Sr year because a team can draft them and sign them for less because the only alternative would be to sit a year in Indy ball, IIRC.

So, he can negotiate more than slot now, if a team has it to spend.

If he's made it known he's open to all offers, he may end up getting offered below the slot.

Sanford. That's it so far. Farr and Kiel, among the big names, have fallen well below their prospect ranking.

Sort of. It appears his number was probably too high for teams. Very likely he makes it to campus. Usually you see a handful of surprises in the 11th or 12th round as teams that cut under slot deals with other use their remaining funds.
