Travis Chestnut in the portal. ...pretty sure that tells the story on the likelihood of his waiver. He can still play another year (without the waiver) in D2/D3/NAIA, fyi.

I don't know that I've ever seen so many kids that have already signed LOI's flip to other schools after they should have already been moved in at their school.

You rarely see kids flip in baseball. Now they're signing, getting out of their LOI and flipping after the draft.

In the case of A&M related players, I'm pretty sure there is a window that opens up automatically upon coaching changes.

Also, it's roster planning season for next year and over-recruiting is a common practice in baseball. Get 15-20 players committed each year and signed to an NLI, but only 10-12 make it to campus.

And I like Travis, but where was he going to play next year? Our OF may have 60 HRs next year and idk who it's going to be, but I'd bet whoever is at 2nd adds at least 10-15 to that HR total.

When I heard the news from Brauny yesterday about Chestnut entering the portal, my heart sunk. I feel for that kid. He loved playing here.

I hope he finds a great landing spot and wins a Natty on a D2 team!

I'll be cheering for whatever team that is, that's for sure.
