This may all wait until post draft for Kent if he really wants guaranteed playing time at Short. Camarillo is about the 15-20th middle infielder in the draft rankings with the LSU SS not in the Top 30. If one or both of them come back it'll squeeze him to a new position or a new team more than likely.

Arquette is a big dude that mainly played 2B. If you think he's a legit SS then definitely take if you lose Kent and Camarillo.

Always need pitching but wouldn't say it's a desperate need. Catcher depends on Kaufer but hopefully with the coaching change we can keep him on board. SS depends on Kent (might transfer) and Camarillo (draft). I suspect it's likely we keep one. 2B I have to think is getting filled by all the infield transfers coming in.

In his two seasons in Corvallis, Mejia was 3-0, 4.21, 2 SV in 33 K in 36.1 IP. He held hitters to a .233 average.
I'd say "committed in portal" or something similar might be more accurate. Since there is no signing of an NLI Kash could change his mind at any minute. Also need Henseler and Bergevin on there in a similar posture.

Donegan was 2-1, 3.63 with 20 K to only 5 BB in 22.1 IP over seven appearances before being shut down for season in late March due to an injury. Four-pitch mix. Up to 93.

The portal rankings (less '64' than the others) seen to be heavily performance based. So freshmen with limited stats rank low and upperclassmen with major down years (Schrier) still rank very high. Vast generalization on my part.

Cunningham is a definite take imo.
I like the 2 Washington middle infielders as well. Posted numbers on another thread but Clayton hit .325 with 11 HR in 2023 and fielded at a .980 clip (only 4 errors) this year to add to the above numbers. Aiva (true soph) is a beast and fielded .974 (6 errors) this year in addition to his big bat. I think these guys may be ones to watch depending on how things shake out with our middle infield.

Gillen was one of top relievers in Big East last two years. He was 5-1, 1.51, 4 SV with 70 K in 65.2 IP. His FB was up to 97 this year & hitters batted .154 against his SL.

Excuse my laziness, but when is the deadline to enter the portal and when is the deadline to commit/sign elsewhere?
your ability to enter the portal ended yesterday (unless there's a coaching change or they pull your financial aid - those start a new 30 day window). There is no deadline for committing, and you never actually sign. You just enroll. So as long as you enroll in time to be eligible you're good to go.krushing93 said:
