The Kid from Penn (Wyatt Henseler), can absolutely rake. He's been 3B for them but early rumor was that he was likely to get a shot at 1B here, with GG having claimed the hot corner for the next 2 years.Detective Jake Peralta said:

A lot of these names thrown around that are now in the portal are guys with great stats. However they are from small schools. So having those #s against their conference and non-conf schedule/talent, is fine, but could equate way different against the talent of an SEC schedule grind.
To me, the hardest thing for Schloss and his coaches will be to sort through and see who have the attributes to make the transition to go against the SEC gauntlet of arms and play the SEC level of defense. That way, a guy from a smaller school who hit 20+ dingers or has an .350 avg, will still look good in the SEC, rather than getting him here and all of a sudden he just hits like 7-8 dingers or maybe just has a .240 avg

one thing to keep in mind I suppose in this new NIL era...
any returning player for 2025 is going to be, um, due a raise since the Ags had a great season
and for some of the returning players -- who likewise had a great season -- the raise could be substantial
(of course some NIL will be freed up by players going to the draft)
I think guys like Grahovac, Laviolette, and maybe a Camarillo May get some big bidders.
That's against NCAA rules unless they are in the portal…..

Super stoked that those guys say 'hi'. Tell them a big 'howdy!' back for me next time you see them
I'm well aware of the transfers already here. Wasn't talking about them. This thread is about the portal that just now opened up and I was talking about "A lot of the names" already mentioned. Not all of them……that's why I said 'a lot'
Coach and his staff have done a wonderful job thus far while here, and no reason to doubt them this year.
Just saying this is probably their hardest challenge, is to sort through and see if their stats/talents are apples to apples, as far as jumping from their smaller conference over to the SEC gauntlet.

I really hope Henseler makes it here...but the draft is a real risk.
Now we have a back up plan that can also DH.
📌TRANSFER UPDATE: @LSUbaseball picks up a big-time power addition to its lineup in Indiana State transfer Luis Hernandez, I’m told. Hernandez, 6-1, 190, had a monster 2024 with a .359 average, 23 homers and 76 RBIS along with a 1.114 OPS. #LSUhttps://t.co/F2mEcVz9t4

Camarillo. Schloss loves a good SS.
After a lot of conversations with my family, I’ve decided to opt out of draft consideration and head to College Station. Excited to start my next chapter in Aggieland! Gig ‘em 👍🏻👍🏻 @AggieBaseball
