So we picked up a guy that Arkansas upgraded from. It's still a talent upgrade for us. Let's not act like we played even close to as good as Arkansas did this season. Looks like it's going to be baby steps and not one giant leap.

We basically traded Jevonnie Scott for him. So, I guess that's OK.

This is a little beyond desperate, imo. At least no one can say we aren't as talented as Arkansas. I mean we are literally taking their talent from them.

He shot only 4 FTs on the season and made 1. That's not a joke.

He made 10 shots on the season and 7 were dunks. In three seasons he made 27 FGs and 16 were dunks.

We have played Arkansas 5 times since Henderson has been at Arkansas and he has only gotten into 1 of the games. He didn't get into the game against us this year. Doesn't appear that he was a consistent rotation player for them.

He did block 4 shots against us in the game last year

Henderson's most notable game for Arkansas this season was vs LSU in the SEC tournament. Played 26 minutes, 4 points, 3 blocks, 7 rebounds.

I'd for sure rather have Henderson than Marfo IMO. Marfo demonstrated that he wasn't cut out for high major play. Henderson is plenty athletic and really long. He can at least be a better rim protector and dunk finisher than Marfo was capable of being against SEC competition.

Quick scan of Hogville, their posters generally seemed to like Henderson. Said he had 'a lot of dog in him' and 'played hard', just didn't have much of an offensive game.

My impression from reading their boards is an athletic high energy scrapper type with a bench role, will be a definite plus on defense, very reliable defender, but mostly a non-threat on offense other than put backs and such.

I can understand the thinking. Henderson at minimum has shown he can be a plus defender against SEC level competition. A guy like Cork, there are more unknowns about what will translate if he steps up the level of competition. I don't know what the ceilings of those two players are, but absolutely Henderson has the higher floor.

That floor for Henderson seems very low.

He's averaged under 7 minutes a game in his career and that doesn't factor in all the games he didn't see the court. So really its a lot less is you factor in games he was available and didn't play.

He's never had a season where he had more made FGs than fouls committed.

Seems like a guy that should play about 8 mpg. If he's getting more it's probably more to do with how bad everyone else is than how well he is playing. I'll be more than happy to eat crow if he becomes a key contributor next year I hope like hell that happens.

Why is the debate between 2 guys that aren't even in the top 50 available in the portal?

Is Henderson a "plus" defender? If so, would he play A LOT more. He only played 110 minutes in a season that for Arkansas was 32 games and 1,285 minutes?

Here is a 20 minute highlight video of LSU vs Arky in SECT semi-final a month ago. Henderson actually played 26 minutes for Arky in this game, so he's on the court a bunch in this vid. He had a couple of dunks in these highlights and 3-4 plays where you see him block or alter shots.

Sounds like there is another name in the portal we are involved with that is announcing tomorrow. I believe he is a guard.

Both Cork and Henderson are bench role player level pickups. So I was just comparing those two guys specifically.
