I went when they were still in the trailer over a year ago and it was terrible. BBQ was decent but service was awful. People go nuts about their bacon burnt ends but I thought they were awful. I don't like candied pork though so if you're into incredibly sugary bbq then you might like them.Sorrell Booke said:
Anyone been to Heim BBQ in Ft Worth? I am heading there on business next week and want to know if it is worth a visit.

I liken it to your OC and DC getting stolen away when you have a great football program.Quinn said:
There ya go - looks like all is good in FranklinWorld. Still interesting that his top two employees left in such a short time period. I don't blame the podcast guys for putting the story out there, though their speculation ended up being wrong. Thought it was an interesting story with lots of circumstantial evidence pointing to a big change. Glad to see Franklin Barbecue will still be around.

Hit up All the King's Men BBQ in downtown Bryan last night for dinner, very solid bbq especially for 7:00 at night. Brisket was good with a great bark and easily beat the last two dinner time offerings I've had from Fargos and the 50/50 chance of getting a decent cut at Kreuz in Bryan. Ribs were good as well, really simple on the rub but definitely not better than Fargos.
Had their three bean side which as the name implies has three different types of beans, brisket trimmings, sausage, and a few regular ingriedents like onion, etc. all mixed together, was really good with a ton of different flavors hitting you all at the same time.
A few good looking choices for dessert that I was too full for and a really big alcohol list with tons of whiskey and bourbon round out the experience. Overall I think it's well worth a stop and with the revitalization they have going on in downtown Bryan, it seems well positioned for the future.

yea, from what I remember of looking at their menu, the brisket prices were higher than Franklins and Snows.
Are those per pound prices? Near as I can tell from their menu, that's the price for a brisket plate (with 2 sides)...do you get a pound of brisket with that?wadd96 said:
It could be worse...
Pappa's Delta Blues in Webster charges $22.95/lb for lunch... and somehow, they charge $27.95/lb for the same brisket at dinner...

You're right... That's a plate price. So probably 1/3#. On the "to go" menu they have brisket at $32.95/lb...
