Should have a good shot next year with the new policy, and I would be a "5" in 2020 when that goes into effect.
What's this "policy" you're talking about? So if I'm not really interested in going for a couple years does that mean I need to start applying for a spot any way?
From the email:
The popularity of the camp is at an all-time high this year and it showed with member-lottery entries nearly doubling from last year. We're going to do a few things over the next several years to address this popularity.
First, starting this year, we increased the number of spots available to 70 (up from 50). We'll continue to take that many until demand decreases.
Second, the waiting list will no longer be drawn randomly each year but will be based instead upon seniority.
Finally, we're going to pilot a policy that anyone with a multiplier of "5" or more (meaning those members who've been with us for at least five years and have never attended camp) will automatically gain a spot in that year's camp. We have very few members who fit these criteria each year, but we want to make sure that the process to get into Camp Brisket doesn't continue beyond five years for any of our members. This policy will be effective for the 2020 Camp Brisket.
