Smitty's. Very little wait, if any.lazuras_dc said:
Ill be in Wimberley this weekend and may consider going into lockhart sunday for BBQ. Where should I go and how long should I expect to wait?
Honestly I think the only reason to go to Lockhart is to say you've been to Lockhart, but I'm very confident you'll leave thinking it was incredibly over rated no matter what place you visit. With the bbq revolution that's happened over the last decade or so (sprecifically in Austin area) there's so many bbq joints that are better than lockhart. Lockhart has the history but they're no longer the "bbq capital of Texas" in my opinion.lazuras_dc said:
For real? That's disappointing. I saw Black's had an A+ w/ cdub.

Austin Barbecue questions:
Has anyone been to the new la Barbecue locations? Curious how they're doing and if the lines are still long. My sister & BIL are headed to Austin next weekend and want to go somewhere without crazy lines. I was going to suggest Stiles Switch, Vera's, and Teri Black's. Any other thoughts?
Same thing for me both times I went. Line wasn't terrible but they were pretty slow getting the food out. Their sausage (knockwurst) was probably the best I've had. Forgot about that when I posted about them earlier.Quinn said:
I've had Micklethwait before and really enjoyed it, but I had a long wait to actually get the food once ordered (30+ min). I'm willing to wait, but my sister isn't the patient type.

You could alway pre order La BBQ just email them 5 days in advance. The lines probably an hour long if you get there early but was wrapped around the building by the time I ate. It was amazing still though. I would also suggest Valentinas. Its a little far south but its incredible and no line.Quinn said:

Going to try Butters in Mathis this Saturday. Hoping it's a step up from Smoliks.
Loved it. Granted, I've never been to the top 50 places other than Cooper's and McMIllian's in Fannin but I thought it was really well done. Marbled brisket was tender and tasty and the sausage was ok. Wife liked this chicken a lot too. The winner for me was the pork rib though. Easily the best I've ever had.lazuras_dc said:Blanco Jimenez said:
