Perhaps. But the optics of it seem very wrong. Most watching will feel that way. Feels like special treatment. A lost ball is a lost ball. Was unbelievably favorable ruling there. Scheffler hit a terrible shot off the course.

Critics of golf would say rules are silly sometimes. No way scheffler should be rewarded for hitting a horrendous shot that went off the course.
