Nobody ever accused cops of being the brightest bulbs in the box.

The officer was a jackass. He is the sole reason he is injured. No doubt about it.

A lot of people still don't get how quickly you can go 20-30 yards just trying to process things. Especially considering golfers are often times being helped out by the dudes in the yellow jackets when entering a course / tournament,

Darlington has been very careful to repeatedly say that the cop "attached" himself to Scottie's car AFTER Scottie was already moving. A car takes a few feet to stop. Darlington's story makes it sound like Scottie stopped as soon as he realized the cop was on his car.

Announcers have to be praying that Scheffler sprays one in to trouble so they can say,"Let's see if Scottie can get out of jail here".

If a person (cop or not) voluntarily jumps onto a moving vehicle, they've "assaulted" themselves.

I agree with you 100%. But to add to it even more so, Darlington said that he only drove about 10 yards or 25-30 feet. Not 20-30 yards. And again, this all happened at like 6 AM this morning, in the rain, when it was still completely dark out, and there was a major accident/crime scene investigation going on. A recipe for confusion and limited vision/visibility.

Oh ya, and you know what else happens at major accidents/crime scene investigations? A **** ton of cop cars with all of their lights all going. And from multiple reports I've seen, all of the players were told that they could go around the accident and enter the golf course.

Saying that his pants were beyond repair, because he was basically drug while Scottie was driving (for 10 yards at what? 5-10mph, just speculation here) is beyond laughable and absurd. But congrats, Barney Fife. You got him.

It's 2024. There has to be video corroborating either side. IF the officer was there to give instructions or get information, the window was rolled down. Then Sheffler accelerated instead...

My understanding per this eye witness reporter is that the officer attached himself to the driver's side windo opening and was then dragged 10 yards. Sheffler was detained for 20 min and the L'vill police still didn't know that Sheffler was a golfer who was supposed to be let through.

It sounds to me like the officer who instructed him to go around the bus(according to Scottie) is NOT the same officer that tried to stop him. Purely speculation on my part based on all the different accounts we've heard

From what Darlington has said about the scene it's possible the 2nd officer couldn't even see the first one, much less have known what he did or didn't tell Scottie.

If I had to guess what happened here is mine.....Scottie got caught by the traffic a few cars back and an officer signaled him to go around and proceed. As he was doing this officer #2 (Barney Fife), not knowing the other officer sent Scottie on proceeds to spot him and witness a "felon" in his eyes purposely ignore traffic commands and he then proceeds to go all John McClain and jump on top of a car traveling ten mph to show said car who's in charge. Once all that happens and Scottie stops the situation has then escalated so much that Barney HAS to arrest him to show him who's boss so that he doesn't have major egg on his face, even though he was directed by a different officer to proceed.

Again this is pure guessing, but I bet I am pretty damn close.

The officer's crash investigation business is not getting kind reviews

Throwing himself onto marked, credentialed car following what another cop instructed. Then not having the spine to hash it out. I put this on the other cop too. Should have intervened and brought sanity. Another example of cops protecting cops, even when they've gone full ******

Total ****ing clown show for that department

I know these guys get security jobs, but a crash investigation side hustle sounds pretty conflict-of-interesty btw.
