I think it's the LMPD doubling down after they figured out who they had in custody. They think they'll look better by processing him just like any other person.Aggie Therapist said:

the only thing i could think of bad for scottie is even if he thought he had permission, perhaps he wasn't paying enough attention or ignored to what the cop there was signaling to him to do. otherwise, these cops look like idiots and should have at least pulled him out and spoken to him first.

Jeff Darlington was standing right there. He's been on air on ESPN. Sounds like a big misunderstanding. Jeff Darlington said it was clear the officer didn't even know Scottie was a player in the tourney.

This kinda sucks because it's now turned into the OJ case coverage but I'd like to watch some main feed golf.

He's already back at the course, rolled up in the backseat of a range rover a few minutes ago. I hope he's in the clubhouse trading for one of Rickie's orange polos right now.
I'm not sure the PGA would've let him be disqualified but it doesn't look like an issue now with him on site with 45 minutes to go before tee off.
Statement from Scottie Scheffler to me: “This morning, I was proceeding as directed by police officers. It was a very chaotic situation, understandably so considering the tragic accident that had occurred earlier, and there was a big misunderstanding of what I thought I was…
