the only thing i could think of bad for scottie is even if he thought he had permission, perhaps he wasn't paying enough attention or ignored to what the cop there was signaling to him to do. otherwise, these cops look like idiots and should have at least pulled him out and spoken to him first.

Louisville pd doesn't have the greatest reputation. This is going to end in disaster for them.
After the fatality and probably additional officers being called in that weren't supposed to work the event and maybe aren't fully versed on what's going on tournament-wise, I can understand some confusion when someone tries to drive around a barricade in the dark and rain. Briefly detaining him to sort it out is understandable. Taking him downtown and booking him is ridiculous.

Jeff Darlington was standing right there. He's been on air on ESPN. Sounds like a big misunderstanding. Jeff Darlington said it was clear the officer didn't even know Scottie was a player in the tourney.

Then they recently said he was heard saying "I didn't realize you were a police officer" as he was being hauled off.
Also said from the moment the cop was beating on his window with the flashlight to him being hauled away in cuffs it was maybe 20 seconds, included lots of cussing and the cops reaching into his car and pulling him out.
Sounds like a massive overreaction on the cop's part.

I will say, the PGA Championship has always seemed like the distant 4th of the majors in terms of intrigue and excitement. They've really upped their game this year.
Need to hear both sides of this before we assume anything. Those charges look pretty serious on paper. Who knows

They already do. Much like this cop that stuck out his leg and the driver got charged with a felony. Liar on a power trip.

ESPN+ just reported that the owner of Valhalla Golf Club is the one who picked Scottie up from jail and drove him to the course
