No. He was trying to go around a bus that had no driver according to the ESPN guy. It was a paved shoulder and right in front of the players entrance. He said he went about 10 yards with the cop cussing at him and beating on the window and he stopped. Said he rolled down the window and the cop tried to pull him through the window by grabbing his arm.
Bad deal for Scottie and likely and over-enthusiastic cop but given the situation just bad timing for both it would appear.
They hauled him off.

I think this is right. Doesn't excuse his over-zealousness but he was probably wasn't working the event and was brought in for the fatality.
I'm guessing it gets sorted out. Scottie says they were just doing their job after someone was killed and the whole thing is forgotten (except for the memes) in a couple days.
I think the only golfer getting out of this one is Tiger Woods.

According to ESPN players were texted instructions and told they could go around the accident to get to the course. Other players did the exact same thing without incident. LMPD probably not ready for the firestorm one of their officers created.

Like I said, uninformed. Trying to drag someone out the window of a car and arresting him? Seems extreme. Detaining until facts are sorted because you were clueless? Sure. Cuffing and arresting? That's crazytown.
Not saying it was normal traffic flow, but I am explaining why Scheffler probably thought nothing of it. They do it every day.

Apparently a cop was "dragged" by Scheffler and sustained minor injuries. LMPD likely needs to stop releasing statements like that and just let Scottie go. Or else the police video will need to show some major aggression on scheffler's part.
