Careful buying SOXL with NVDA reporting earnings AMC tomorrow. NVDA is about 8% of SOXX and is trading at 55 PE. I'm not optimistic given the China issue and crypto crash.

I know this is "correct," but what would you say is the right way to play a move like that? Brew fomo'd into puts on the way down, but that seems equally reckless.
My aar is that move was the market making an overly violent move in the direction it wanted to go anyway, on whatever news happened to come along at about the right time. So was it wrong to assume it was going to swing back just as fast?
Or is the only right answer to get stopped out (or take your profits) then sit on the sidelines and wait for it to shake out?

Yes the right way is to allow your stops to save your capital, then to patiently wait for a good setup. If that means joining in on the way down based on a target and stop you get from TA, then do that. If that means waiting for a reversal to confirm and then getting in to the upside, do that. What is not correct is holding on to longs too long or buying OTM 0Dte calls like a newb. Anybody that does that has to wear the dumbass hat and tee of with their pants down.

I have no idea who would waste money like that.

The folks who have spent this entire bear market catching falling knives would have made much more money trading with the trend.

I mean, i guess that's what i was doing, buying calls at my previous s/r levels and getting stopped (manual/mental stops) as the levels failed. Maybe it just felt like knife catching.
And they were 1dte

actually those were my biggest winners today. Once we lost the low of the day, I started to look at puts. I bought 0dte's and a couple puts, tomorrow exp. The first big candle down (and loss of that previous level) I went in heavy. I LOVE these sharp sells in this market btw, lose a key level with volume, Boom! They are a fast easy way to make money.

bought 11/16 396 P's for 1.20, sold 6 minutes later for 2.15, and stopped out of the other half at 1.87

also same time frame and move, bought small portion of 0dte, 394P's and sold 2 minutes later for .67, yes, 2 minutes later, the move started to consolidate a little and I sold, then concentrated on watching the tomorrow exp 396 P's.

and I am far from perfect, but cut losers short today and let half the puts run. .

Oh, and here's the move, there's the previous LOD, 399.37...Boom, lost it at 12:14.

Let a 15 minute low establish and then use that as your reference for a stop.
