I just booked for my wife's Spring Break. We'll be there from Wed. the 13th through Fri. the 15th (technically the 16th). I jumped on a flight from IAH to LAS that was a good $150 less than any of the other flights around that time--the downside being that the return flight is a red eye (leaves at 12:25 am on Saturday). I'm fine with this, because we'll try to get a late check-out, and then just check our bags at the concierge (I've done this before). It should save us a night's hotel cost--and it's not like you'd actually be doing much to enjoy Vegas by waiting until the next morning to leave, rather, you'd just be paying to sleep. We'll have all day Saturday and Sunday to recover.
This will be the week before the NCAA tournament--but during the conference basketball tournaments, which may mean more games to watch anyway.
We're staying at the Aria (center of the strip, and I got emails from them with what seemed like a good deal--20% off rooms, 2 free buffet tickets, and a free room upgrade). We considered Aria, Cosmo, Bellagio, and Caesar's, and Aria appeared to be the best deal out of the 3.
We're mostly going to eat at some good restaurants. We're pretty avid Top Chef watchers, so I think the theme of the trip will be "Top Chef" oriented. I'm trying to research and plan out our meals accordingly. We've already done Craftsteak and Wolfgang's at the MGM, so we'll branch out a bit. If I get a chance, I'll try to put together a summary post of the Top Chef type restaurants for people.
