I'm 29 today. I started out having a pretty crappy day, but then my fianc surprised me with dinner, cake, and our favorite wine when I got home from work.

I'm also grateful for everyone here who makes each season and offseason so much fun to be around. I'm really excited for this season and I am so stoked to move into the new stadium. This is my first time ever opening a new stadium, and I can't wait to experience it with all of you. Thank you for all that you do.

The Rangers are apparently doing a series of bobblehead giveaways this season highlighting the top moments of The Ballpark. What would you say were the top moments?

Not good for the Rangers, but Pujols 3-homer WS game was historically significant.

I was there for the perfect game as well. Missed the Rusty Greer diving catch because my grandfather made us leave to beat traffic.

That's a funny and sad story at the same time. I was there as well. Will Clark was one of my favorite players so my dad was kind enough to take me to Will Clark jersey night. Little did we know we would witness history. I was only 9 at the time, but remember how crazy everyone went after the game and how my dad was telling me we just saw something very special. People also forget Canseco hit 2 absolute bombs in that game. Just a great night to be a Ranger fan.

You left a perfect game to avoid traffic? Words - they escape me.

I was 12. Wasn't given much of a choice.

We also missed a brawl in the early 90s for the same reason back when they were still at Arlington Stadium. Apparently he really hated traffic.
A friend of mine was also at the Nolan Ryan beatdown of Robin Ventura but left early for the same reason then heard the crowd going nuts from the parking lot.

This fight happened in the 3rd inning

Good catch, must've been embellishing the story and was probably in the pisser or something stupid.

Terrible news. I remember thinking he was such a cold guy when he came and spoke at my Christian high school in 2004.

Rangers
The Rangers are loaded with young left-handed power with Nomar Mazara, Joey Gallo, Rougned Odorand Ronald Guzman, but are still susceptible to the strikeout. They could also use more help from the right side and depth at both catcher and third base. They also need a full and healthy season from Delino DeShields in the leadoff spot. -- T.R. Sullivan

LINEUP IF SEASON STARTED TODAY
1. Delino DeShields, CF
2. Elvis Andrus, SS
3. Shin-Soo Choo, DH
4. Nomar Mazara, RF
5. Joey Gallo, LF
6. Rougned Odor 2B
7. Ronald Guzman 1B
8. Patrick Wisdom 3B
9. Jeff Mathis C

Surely they can figure out how to have grass and still have concerts or whatever the F. Come on, man. The entire league is able to do it

I've got tickets to see Kiss and Billy Joel at Globe Life Park.

Brings up the question... Who will own GLP and get the revenue for concerts there? And why wouldn't any concerts thought to be in the new Park... just be hosted at GLP.

I would be down for the Billy Joel concert if it were in an arena. I'm not sure if something will be difference since the season will be over, but any time I stay for the postgame concerts lately, the acoustics are TERRIBLE. Also, we play Bama that day. Sorry Billy.

Yep. And given that this is another tank season, we need to find a way to get Calhoun some extended atbat's and see what we have in him. Saw several mentions that he has worked hard over the offseason and dropped some weight. Sending him back to AAA isn't going to do much good, but we are overflowing with LH bats. Something needs to give.

Baseball should be played on grass.

It's just a fake look for a classic game. And while the new turf is much better than the old astroturf, it still seems to bug players with knee/ankle issues. So in some cases, the downside of playing in Arlington for possible FA's may shift from guys that don't want to play in the heat to guys that don't want to play on turf.

Wonderful, so the Rangers, or more importantly the Arlington tax payers, are getting a brand new shiny SkyDome?!? That is ridiculously stupid.

Baseball should be played on grass. But I guess this way they'll save money on a roll out tarp and 30 field crew guys?!?
