See below for Part 1 of the 2026-27 Points of Emphasis video (narrated by SVP, Head of Referee Development and Training Monty McCutchen), which provides examples and guidance regarding Off-Arm Push Offs by Offensive Players and Freedom of Movement – Screens: pic.twitter.com/zMMmOK3Kxq

The problem is the points of emphasis are only ever enforced for the first couple of games then promptly forgotten about every year. Wasn't flopping supposed to be point of emphasis at one point?

It varies. Sometimes they do have it stick, sometimes they don't.

Flopping is supposed to be a technical, and they only issued one the entire season last year and it was on someone from the Kings.

Like reffing in the NBA, Reffing points of Emphasis are wildly inconsistent.

Really wish they would crack down on the fake screens where the offensive player acts like they are trying to move across court and they just lock up and push the defender away from the ball carrier.

Victor Wembanyama was asked if he would ever sign a deal with a sports betting company: “Absolutely not. Honestly, I think it’s very sad to see some players promote it.” pic.twitter.com/foorjwznDq

LeBron and Thunder fans are going crazy with hate over this. Wild hill to die on for the haters.

Dalton Knecht is not expected to make the Lakers’ roster, per @nypost

“Not a good sign for Dalton Knecht, whom multiple rival executives expect to be the odd man out as the Lakers look to trim their roster from 16 players on standard NBA deals to the league maximum of 15.”… pic.twitter.com/2FVR7AvAcJ

Busy week for BC Roma in its debut season …

The Italian club co-founded by Donnie Nelson and Luka Dončić has signed Kelly Olynyk after the 13-year NBA veteran played in San Antonio last season. https://t.co/Kcu0ICXy23 pic.twitter.com/tK3vsoAGVD
