Was at the game last night, crowd was awesome. I guess some of the dallas fans in this thread didn't watch the same game I did. Rockets are clearly the superior team, if not for Crawford keeping howard on the bench this would have been a 20 point win. Mchale needs to never put in that second quarter lineup again. If howard can stay out of foul trouble, I think rockets in 5 games. Could go 6 but I think 5.

I always hesitate to base a series off of one game (even if it is the Mavs playing well), but the rockets were the better team last night. Dallas definitely has to make adjustments and are capable of doing so and winning the series, it will come down to how well they can execute those adjustments. I'd say if the rockets perform similarly to game 1 in game 2, then your assessment would be correct.

Of course that is true, I still remember 2005 against dallas. But this rockets team is the best since 1997. When howard was playing last night, dallas could not get in the lane at all. Without him, easy layups left and right. The rockets shot very well too. With all that said, I just think the rockets are playing at a different level this year and won't let themselves have another first round disappointment.

Yeah I don't think it would have been even close if Dwight plays 30+ minutes. And frankly, aside from one push it mostly wasn't close as is.

I don't understand how teams can't guard Houston better. The gm and coach boath preach that it's a sin to take a mid range jumper (which I agree with). They are either taking a 3 or a layup. And then we do dumb things like help off of three point shooters. I wish Carlisle would just tell all perimeter defenders to not leave their man and see what happens. If nothing else it may throw houston for a loop.

Harden and Howard would have field days if the mavs didn't provide help defense.

I think the mavs played uncharacteristically sloppy last night. I'm not referring to plays where Houston pressure caused issues, but just randomness. I think this team is good enough to win the series, and I dont think Houston is that good a team, but we never really gelled after the Rondo trade. Some of that can be attributed to a parade of alternating injuries since the trade, and maybe some of it is he just doesn't fit. Who knows.

Howard was clowning Tyson. If that continues, Dallas can't win.

LOL. JET is the least of my worries for this series. I love what he did as a Mav, but if Houston is relying on him to be a significant contributor, they're in trouble. I'm more concerned about Brewer going unchecked, Smith hitting open 3's, and of course, Harden going off.

I'll hand it to him: Terry stepped up. NOW, let's see if he keeps it up (hopefully not). No excuse for the Mavs letting Brewer do what he did. Other observations:

-Can't send Harden to the line 20(?) times. But, kept his percentage low, so I guess pick your poison.
-IF Dirk can keep hitting his shots, the Mavs' chances look better, but obviously needs some help.
-I'm confident Monta won't have another game that bad.
-Parsons is clearly not 100%. If he stays this bad/limited, may be better to go with Jefferson, and let Dirk and Monta carry the load.
-Obviously wouldn't put money on a Mavs series win, but still no reason to panic.

Dallas clearly didn't play a good game and made a lot of boneheaded mistakes, but so did the Rockets. Of both teams play their best, Rockets win a close one. Dallas needs to steal game 2 in Houston or it could be over quickly. If they can get Houston rattled and Harden and Howard off their game, it could make a crazy interesting series.

As a Houston fan, I'm worried about Ellis heating up. He has the ability to go on a multi game three points to binge.

I don't start getitng worked up until a home team loses or were in game 7.
