It's just like any other big sporting event… including Aggie football. If you don't care where you sit and just want to be in the building, reasonable last minute tickets will be available. If you want good seats… let's use FIFAs "cat 1" terminology, those should remain in high demand.

I've got 2 round of 16 tickets for July 4th in Houston that unfortunately I'll be forced to sale… they may actually be worth more once the teams are known.

Scotland vs Morocco is still available.

Also Germany-Curacao and Netherlands-Sweden have some tickets in Houston.

Warning - their site is misleading. For M78 in Dallas for example, there's literally just one ticket available but they highlight two whole sections when you're zoomed out.

To their credit, the price is lower than lottery prices were, but still - I'm not gonna pay $405 for a single. I guarantee singles will be available for much cheaper later.

Travel Advisory

I guess more tickets will be available now that Amnesty International has posted a US Travel advisory.

This thing is gonna be a bust in terms of what it could have been. Although I do find it funny that the USA is considered a travel threat. Its still no different than any other western world country and probably quite a bit safer.

I am sure they consider Mexico safer.

Amnesty International is no fan of Mexico.

At any rate, right or wrong, there definitely seems to be pretty widespread apprehension about traveling to the US for the World Cup. Combined with FIFA's antics, the vibes are definitely not great or where they should be for this.

If I were brown-skinned and not fluent in English, I probably wouldn't try to come… but honestly, it'd be no better for me overall in most European countries either. Most might be better about letting folks in with minimal barriers, but once there, the average European is far worse about racist treatment than the average American. That is to say - some folks are likely going to be F-ed with by ICE, but once they're in, they'll be treated much better than most places in the world.

Honestly, I can only think of a small handful of countries where I might be willing to say that people from every walk of life would be treated better than in the US. And even then, I'm not too sure.
