Me too, I just hope they're offering tickets at a good price.

I'm hanging on to a pair of those infernal Right To Buys as a failsafe, but if I can get what I want through AA, I'll dump those and call it good.

You sure you read that right?

At their best cash to miles conversion, that's $1875 per ticket. If that's accurate, then it's highly disappointing.

If you're an AA member check your email. Link at the bottom takes you to a site with mileages for each.

Edit: Group stage match tickets in Dallas 115-130K. Just checked.

I'm not a member but I was planning to buy through my FIL and pay him back. Fat chance at those prices… those Dallas ones are over $3k a pop. Even if they're amazing seats I'm not paying that.

Houston starts at 75-85K, if that's better.

Not really. Thanks for sharing the info. Guess it's good I kept a pair of my right to buys, but I suspect the only tickets they'll have available for that block will be Cat 1's I don't want to pay for. Or their dynamic pricing will conveniently raise prices when the RTB window is open.

Speaking of which, those dumb RTBs are even cheaper now than a week ago on their secondary marketplace… many are going for less than half what the original price was. I think sentiment surrounding ticket prices is drastically reducing demand.

Hope their "dynamic pricing" for tickets is real but I suspect it it's going to take a long time for them to admit defeat and actually lower prices.

The "dynamic pricing" will only work to raise ticket prices with high demand. Zero chance is lets them go lower.

The people buying tickets right now are either scalpers are trying to resale them or people dead set on going to matches.

When the true ticket release comes along with the full schedule, I think the demand will be down. This counts for group stage only. The knockout rounds will all definitely sale out because there is a decent guarantee of higher quality teams.

Agreed. My present strategy is to walk up to a game in Dallas with the family a little after kickoff and see who's willing to sell for a decent price, content to walk past several. We'll have a good day in DFW if no one budges.

Yeah I guess I'm gonna resign myself to secondary marketplace too. At least for group stage games. My RTBs are for M78 (round of 32 in Dallas), which I hung onto because of the chance that USMNT might go, and I might just buy them regardless of price. It can't be worse than freaking $3k+ worth of AA points for a Dallas group stage.

I "won" one of the presale lotto slots. Looking at Dallas only (family lives there) and it's $335 or $445 per ticket for group stage games. Surely these prices come down at some point, right?!?! Have to decide by Saturday morning on whether or not to buy.

Right now it's basically FIFA's attempt at an "average."

Prices for group stage will likely go up for quality games (Pot 1 vs. Pot 2) and will definitely plummet for crap games (Pot 3 vs. Pot 4).

I'm probably the only dummy who's doing this, but for anyone else in the RTB racket, they've released a bit more information about how the process will work.

I went ahead and got tickets to one of the Dallas matches. I got on right after my time slot opened and there were no knockout stage matches available and no weekend group stage tickets available, so midweek in Dallas it is. Hopefully will be able to pick up some other ones if they become available

If they manage to sell out any match with Cabo Verde from Africa playing in it, it'll be a miracle. 2nd smallest nation to ever qualify for a World Cup behind Iceland

It's very shrewd of them to have several rounds of selling before the draw. Folks who get unlucky with that draw might as well just go and have fun cause you won't get your money back trying to sell.

I'm do wonder what percentage of tickets have been allocated for these early pre-sales. I think I saw somewhere say it was about 1/7th of the available matches.

I'll also report that you don't get to select seats in this presale. Its simple buy by category and it'll get assigned later. Knowing my luck, we will be in the very last row at the top of AT&T.

Dang that stinks. With the RTB it's gonna be similar. We'll get a digital token that gets converted to a ticket in May/June and that's when we'll get our actual seat assignments.

Wanna bet that they offer a deal in April to let people convert early and pick their seats for $XXX per ticket?

PSA for Houston folks - RTBs for M35 (Saturday group stage) are going dirt cheap on the resale marketplace. Several under $100 which is the cheapest I've ever seen any listed.

Other RTBs are climbing in price again so it's kinda weird that these are so low.

Tagged the M35s but you can remove the tag to see others. You can filter by game or city pretty well.

I mentioned it previously but it bears repeating. You have to buy these resale ones with crypto. I had never done anything with crypto before and found it a giant pain, but it does work once you figure it out.

Yeah those links don't really work well because their web programmer clearly doesn't know SQL.

The "Right To Buy" tag in the filters seems to give you all of them for all venues. Delete that one and just keep the one for the city you want. You can also search for specific matches using Mx where x is the match number (like the "M35" example I showed a few posts above).

If you think filtering/searching is hard, good luck loading your wallet with crypto to actually buy something. It's a giant pain in the ass if you're like me and never messed with crypto before. It does work though. Eventually.

Also, yeah, I can't believe they don't have that schedule posted everywhere. I ended up downloading it so I could stop searching for it all the time. But now I don't need it. Got way too many RTBs. It's a good thing my wife doesn't manage our finances. Hoping I get lucky with the draw and get good group stage matches so I can scalp my knockouts.

I won the lottery and got an email to buy tickets within a 48-hour window from Monday-Wednesday. I'm thinking it's awesome that I won the chance to buy tickets, but for I didn't get the email with the link until Tuesday afternoon. So I missed almost 36 hours of my window to buy. Everything was "unavailable" by the time I could login. Sux

They also list current prices for all WC matches which is useful for planning (RTB + Cat 1 price is what you should be prepared to pay).
