I got the strikeout email overnight

Attempted tier 2 for all three Scotland matches and then the lowest tier for Netherlands in Houston and Argentina in Dallas.

If any of yall have some Scotland tickets that you don't want, let me know.....

I'm in the same boat. Unfortunately, I think that is going to be one of the hottest tickets this year. I had my relatives checking in all week to see if I was able to get any tickets. Given the resale prices, I don't think I am going to be able to justify going along with the travel costs.

On the upside, I should be hearing back about my volunteer status soon. I made it to the final rounds of interviews for the KC area and they are supposed to be sending out volunteer job offers in the next two weeks.

I still think demand will cool and prices will get better once real seats get assigned.

I don't know how big this number is, but I'd bet that a decent amount of purchases right now are from people from "naughty" countries who want to visit family in the US. By giving Trump an award, FIFA secured an agreement for expedited visa application process for ticket holders… I'd bet that more than a few folks have bought tickets with full intention to sell once they have their visas.

Also, I think there are lots of folks in the same boat as many on here… buying several games and then maybe waiting to decide which ones to actually attend, either waiting to see what seats they get assigned and/or waiting for match results to see who's playing in their knockout matches.

And of course, lots of folks are speculating/scalping. I think the bubble will burst once most Cat 1 tickets actually result in corner/end seats (right now their perceived value is higher because people have hope they'll get middle).

When are seat locations announced? I have no interest in buying randomly

No official announcement. Supposedly it was very late for the Club World Cup… like 2 days prior to the game. I've heard they'll try to do better this time, but that it still won't be until late May, at least.

I suspect this happens because they have backchannel ways for the super rich and famous to buy (or just be given) tickets. So they give these folks as much time as possible to come out of the woodwork and say they want to go, and then they'll give them the very best seats, and everyone else gets bumped backwards to a crappier seat.

I don't know about other stadiums but looking at Houston the most and Dallas a little and the pricing levels for each.....tier 3 was gonna be crazy high demand bc of the cheapest and tier 2 wasn't much more.

That's why we went for tier 1. We figured people wouldn't bc of the price and knowing the best tier 1 seats will go to sponsors etc. so we are likely to get the worst tier 1 seats. And we'll be paying a little premium over tier 2 but we were okay with that bc of no travel costs.

Will be interesting to see how many resellers were able to get their hands on and what they go for right before game time

As for actual seats the email said that would closer to game day

Well, FIFA billed the ol' credit card for 9 cat 2 tickets but also won't let me list any on their marketplace.

They lock the marketplace during each window, and for a week or so afterwards. Rest assured, they want you to list so they can make their 15% fees on buyer and seller.

I'm going to enjoy the games/experience but I have to say the whole thing feels a bit scammy… I did the RTBs as well, got two for Port vs Uzbek. Went through the whole process only to decide to sale those once I got the other three games… lost 15% of the top. Then I have to set up the wallet to be paid in crypto and then pay another fee to get the money to my bank (hopefully as its still pending). Whole damn thing has been ridiculously difficult.

It's FiFA.....they're just lying, bribed, crooks - them being scammy is par for the course.

Yeah I've nearly done it all with them. RTBs bought and then dumped on that platform after I got a lottery spot, and then lottery purchases and then resale on the main FIFA resale marketplace. I've probably more than broken even across all the BS. I definitely got caught up in all the madness, and I'm happy to be done with them and come away relatively unscathed (at least financially… lots of hours of my life I'll never get back).

I bought a ticket through StubHub in Category 3 for the Netherlands vs TBA right before they announced the teams. I logged into my FIFA account today and got my ticket transferred over to me without issue. Besides overpaying, it looks like everything is working out.

The Saudi Arabia vs Cape Verde in Houston RTT cat 1's are going for as low as $190 per. On Stubhub cat 1 are over $400.

Got 8 for Curacao / Ecuador and 12 for Netherlands / Tunisia ( all in KC ) . Pumped up for the games but if you think FIFA is corrupt all of the hotels have jacked room rates to over $1000 a night with 2 & 3 night minimums.

Any other matches "affordable" like this in Dallas or Houston?

No that game is an outlier (for good reason - it really sucks).

But it is worth noting that the painful, but legit FIFA Collect marketplace is more affordable across the board than Stubhub or even FIFA's main resale marketplace.

Next cheapest I see there are M57 Japan v. UEFA Playoff B. Category 2 is going for $499. On FIFA's main platform, the same is reselling for $699.

The other good thing about the Collect marketplace is that you can place a bid and it can be accepted. Back when I messed with it, I bought and sold under the listed price that way. But fair warning - dealing with crypto makes that platform a giant pain in the butt.

I finally got the money into my bank account from FIFA for the RTTs I sold... lots of trial and error along the way with the whole crypto thing, and additional ways to pay the fees, but it worked.

Wait you have to use Crypto to buy and sell on the FIFA Marketplace?

The FIFA Collect Marketplace is buy/sale in crypto only.... stupid. We were able to buy their "collectables" using a Visa, but when selling them on their marketplace, you only get paid in crypto. At that point, you then need a crypto wallet, etc., etc., to get the funds into USD and back into your account. PITA.

I guess FIFA isn't really doing much to dispel the "FIFA is Corrupt" opinions.

There's two entirely separate FIFA platforms. Their main marketplace uses credit card.

The Collect platform was originally designed for people to waste money on NFTs (like owning an officially licensed clip of a popular player scoring a goal), but then they created "Right to Buy" NFTs that let people pay to skip the lottery system and get guaranteed tickets; and if you bought direct from them it was also credit card. But their resale on that platform is crypto… for all the dumb NFTs and also these actually useful ones.

I've given up on tickets. The whole thing is so complicated and cumbersome, I'm just to the point where "if I go, I go. If not, no biggie". I figure there will be plenty of tickets in the days leading up to any match other than Argentina that someone who purchased too many will have to offload them for cheap.

I'm not looking again until 2-3 days before a match I want to go to and see who's desperate. The whole "I'm just happy to be in the building" approach.

Just got tickets for Match 35 in Houston - Netherlands vs Playoff Winner! Couldn't be happier! This will be my first WC in person. My son has an former teammate who works for FIFA and that may or may not have been a factor.
People think I'm an idiot or something, because all I do is cut lawns for a living.

I have 2 tickets to the opening US Men's game in LA I am trying to sell. These were part of a "Follow-my-team" package that includes access 3 hours before game and after to the FIFA pavilion. I am looking for $3,500 per ticket, which is a little more than I paid per ticket for 2 tickets to the first 3 games, but comparing prices online, this looks to be the more "expensive" game of the 3 first round games for Team USA. I also posted in the Ticket Exchange forum, but posting here too. Send me a PM if interested, would prefer to sell to an Aggie and only after doing some sort of verification to avoid both parties getting scammed.

I want to make sure I understand this right when it comes to seats being next to each other.

Thru the standard draw I bought 2 tickets to round of 16 in Houston. Since my ONE purchase involved TWO seats, those seats will be next to each other, right?

the reason I ask is they have that whole "sit together" function where you can request to sit next to other folks. They have to be same game and same tier of seats obviously. My understanding is that is if you want to sit next to someone who made a totally separate purchase but it doesn't clearly state that in what I've seen.

It SHOULD be pretty straightforward but I've never seen an event do this sit together part.
deadbq03

You understand correctly. All seats from the same account will automatically be placed together… the sit together function is to let different accounts try and get seats together (likely guaranteeing they get worse within their category).

Ha yeah, these were purchased through the Hospitality program and are supposed to be "premium seats with great site lines" although the actual tickets haven't been issued yet, so I don't know the exact location. Bucket list item for me to watch Team USA in the World Cup, so didn't want to risk doing the lottery. Total cost of the package was $10K per ticket.

It's a function available to everyone who drew tickets
