I've given up. I spent several hours figuring out how to get a Metamask account, then how to get enough USDC in my wallet, then enough AVAX in my wallet, and now when I try to buy it just says "not enough funds to complete purchase" when I have more than enough in my wallet.

Yeah it sucks. I got mine to work with Core, but ironically it didn't work with their button for Core Wallet… it would only work if I used the WalletConnect option and linked to Core there using my phone - taking a picture of the QR code using the Core app on my phone. I got the same "not enough funds" message when I tried it the way they seem to want us to do it.

Either way it's a giant pain. On on one hand, I can understand that they wanted to make this universal - where anyone in the world could trade with each other regardless of currency - but on the other hand, since most actual ticket buyers right now are in North America, it seems like they could've just accepted the three host nation currencies and called it good.

I finally figured it out. I had USDC on the Ethereum network and had to get it over to the Avalanche network. After paying like $20 in fees trying all different types of swaps from USDC to ETH to AVAX to USDC I got it and got me a RTB.

Congrats! It's crazy how complicated it is, but it feels good to have a guarantee. They'll probably screw us and give us the worst seats in Cat 1, but at least we'll be there.

PSA: registration for the regular ticket lottery is next week, from Monday 11ET to Friday 11ET

Like the Visa presale, there's no benefit to killing yourself to register the first day, so let the crazies wait in line on Monday.

Also - for anyone possibly considering the RTB route, they released info yesterday about the conversion process to get tickets:

The big takeaway for now is that when this process begins on Nov 13, you won't be able to buy RTBs on the marketplace anymore.

Me too! And I think today is the last day of selection for this lottery phase. I think everyone who's domestic gets to login that same day, so it's gonna be a trainwreck trying to get in.

Now it's time to start dumping my RTBs. Those become untradeable on the 13th.

I've got an M78 (Dallas weekday round of 32) that I'd part with for $125 to a regular poster on this board. My others are more marketable, but I was already trying to sell this one and it isn't moving and their pricing restrictions don't let me list it for lower. I will list for $203, you can then make a bid of $125 and I'll accept it.

Final Draw happens after group stages get picked… which is honestly going to be a better draw to win because prices for crap group games will plummet.

Also, the RTB route is still in play for the next 6 days if you're patient enough to deal with the crypto BS. Some decent prices out there (relative to ticket costs). Some group stages are going for basically just a 10% premium over ticket costs. Not bad for a guaranteed ticket.

I'm most surprised by the prices of M88, July 3rd knockout in Dallas that the US would go to if they finish 2nd in group. Most recent sales of those went for $150, so maybe a 30% premium on top of ticket costs (and way less than the $300 someone originally paid for it when it dropped).

My original idea was to make a family vacation next summer to Vancouver, Seattle, or maybe Monterrey or Mex DF and catch a WC match.

...but now I think my plan is to wait for the draw. if there are some crappy matches at NRG or ATT, prices might not be that bad.

Secondary market prices on bad draws will be incredibly low.

Which is why I'll only be looking for R32 and R16 matches for my tickets next week.

And no, I only made one entry, so I just got lucky. Honestly, when I put my tin foil hat on, I thought I'd get screwed over because the same login is used for the FIFA Collect site, so they know I've already ponied up for RTBs.

At this rate, I'm looking at 3-5 this afternoon. So weird that they started everyone in the domestic exclusion at the same time.
