He was hurt about 7 minutes in, and then looked fine. Then someone else got injured at about 43 minute and I saw him tell pysio he would need to be subbed at half. So hopefully not too serious

Hopefully just precautionary but even if so, reasonable chance that the 18 year old center back that we just signed from Arsenal's youth academy starts the biggest game of United's season on Thursday. Mind you he's looked pretty good in his limited time with the team but still...yikes.

I didn't go back and watch the first half (other than the goal) because seemed universally agreed upon that both teams were horrible in the first half and I've seen enough horrible halves of football this season.

But I'm beginning to come around on Zirkzee. I probably just jinxed it but it seems like maybe, possibly, it is that he just needed some time to adjust to the style of play in England. He's never going to be the answer when it comes to scoring goals. If he gets 10, I would be happy. But we knew that (or should have known that) when we bought him because he's never been that and expecting him to become that in the most difficult league in the world would be foolish.

But his technical ability, vision, and passing is really good at times and it seems to be more consistent. His hold up play still has room improvement but it seems to be improving as well. If he can continue this trend, I like him as a player that gets 25-30 starts a season IF (and big if) you can get players around him to take advantage of what he can provide. Hojlund needs a hard reset. Garnacho has improved since his benching against City but has seemingly regressed as a goal scorer. Amad is injured. If Zirkzee is surrounded with players who are in form (or just better than what we currently have), his impact is amplified exponentially.

Apparently the plan with Zirkzee is that they were going to slowly bring him in to the main starting striker spot. Then the season went hot garbage straight away. Injuries. New manager. General club anger from the fans. And it's not gone the way they wanted.

Like you I think there is something there. But how's his confidence going to be? Will we get some upgraded players? Lots of questions.

His confidence seems miles better than Hojlund's and miles better than what it was when he was pulled in the first half of...whatever game it was. He's still pulling off some clever flicks and back heels that you don't usually attempt when you're short on confidence. But yeah, in general I agree. His future, like so many others, is largely dependent on United getting their collective **** together in multiple areas that he has absolutely no control over.

This effing guy...did you have to look at advanced analytics to reach that conclusion Jim or did you simply just watch a solitary game at some point over the last 10 years?

I'm watching West Ham/Newcastle and it says something that West Ham are full of guys that either played for us (AWB) or were heavily linked with us (Todibo, Kudus, Alvarez) and they are...currently tied with us on points in the league.

Make of that what you will but it's largely not a good look.

Wait… we have players that are overpaid and we have players that aren't good enough? When did this happen? I thought we were supposed to be getting players that are good enough and aren't overpaid! Someone should have thought of this solution much sooner!

Hopefully we don't have any players that are BOTH overpaid AND not good enough! Can you imagine such a thing?

United announces their intent to build a new stadium adjacent to Old Trafford even revealing a bunch of fancy sketches which will likely in no way represent what it actually looks like if it gets built.

Preliminary estimates set the cost at 2 billion GBP. I look forward to it costing twice that much and taking 20 years to build.

This one was weirdly placed near a discussion about "extra measures" that they were putting in place to garner income even if they aren't in Europe and also near a discussion about the extra revenue the stadium could bring. I'm assuming 120-130m is the impact of the extra stadium but not sure. Confusing editing if you ask me.
