I'd guess it's because the French tell Nike exactly what they want and the USSF lets Nike freelance for the most part.

French defender also wore a long gold necklace for almost the entire first half without anyone noticing. Which is funny because he played the ball in the first 5 minutes and I noticed it flopping around.

I have to say I think this referee is having a brutal game. He's given two cards for tackles, one to each team, and gotten both wrong. The play this half I think is an expected fair tackle at this level. And in the first half he gave the card to the FRA defender and IMHO it was 100% a foul on the polish player who was late.

He's a freak no doubt. I admittedly haven't watched him a ton. I think his low work rate is what was standing out to me. He kind of looks disinterested most of the time. Obviously by design!
