Going to pens against Middlesborough. In a game we should've scored 3-4 goals in the first half alone.

This team is cursed.

I think we all knew that was going to happen. I'm certainly not surprised.

If there is a sports team more underperforming their collective salary anywhere in the world right now I would love to know their name.

Boro really?

There's a lot to be annoyed about but an underrated topic of annoyance is the fact we seemingly don't have a goalie who is capable of saving a penalty no matter how many opportunities he's given. I get that saving a penalty is hard but United goalies are 0 for 19 in penalties in recent knockout competitions.

What is there to say other than it's just more of the same from this shell of a club.

Good first half against Burnley. Have had 2 goals ruled out but lead 1-0. Let's not Middlesbrough this up.
Dre_00

We are indeed Middlesbroughing this up.

Maguire is a ****ing clown. One of the worst transfers of all time

I just don't understand how a team can go from playing really quite well for 45 minutes to absolute crap for the next 45. Against City or Bayern...OK. But this is ****ing Burnley and Middlesbrough we're talking about. It's like they just...stop doing the things that worked when they meet even the slightest bit of fight from an opponent.

Anyway, I was skeptical of 4th before. I think it's all but a certainty hat we won't make it now. no way this team survives March.

I'm done with this season. If they happen to be on and I have nothing else to do, I'll put them on in the background. Other than that. I have more interest in the relegation battle. And other teams that care.

Another craptastic result

Stop me if you've heard this before...

Ronaldo rounds the goalie but scuffs his shot into an empty net allowing it to be cleared. Sancho blows a 3 on 1 opportunity after deciding to go alone and waiting too long to try and get the ball to either Ronaldo or Rashford.

United break quick after Southampton lose possession. Bruno with a wonderful ball in behind the defence that Rashford gets too first before crossing to Sancho for a tap-in...might have been an OG.

1-0.

After the goal we forget how to play again. Just like every game lately.

CR7 runs well offside. Pogba goal disallowed. CR7 is having a really really poor game.

Ronaldo has done literally nothing other than look like a 37 year old forward trying desperately not to like a 37 year old forward.

Aaaaaaand Southampton equalize withing the first 3 minutes of the 2nd half.

United are stuck in soccer Groundhog Day. Every game is the same damn thing.

There is the equalizer. Of course. These players have no heart. No pride.

Let us never forget what this truly is. It is Ed Woodward's stamp of failure on the club. Multiple managers. Billions of pounds in transfers. He's run the club. He's built this monstrosity.

And what did the Glazers do? They promoted his Bristol buddy.

I really hope United listen to Rangnick. I don't think he'll be the permanent manager come summer but I think his tactics and ideas have shown just how incomplete this roster is and how far certain players have fallen.

And to be honest, are we certain that Pochettino is still interested in United given the state or this mess? Or that ten Haag would even be interested at all? Rangnick may be the best choice for permanent manager if/when you come to find out that Mauricio and Erik are a "thanks but no thanks".

my thought is until management gives the manager backing to take back the power in the locker room, i'm not sure it makes a difference short of Pep strolling in.

there is an entitlement rot that runs deep. and the absolute worst part is none of these players have earned the entitlement. (ex. CR7 who clearly doesn't have the legs for the EPL)

I'll be honest, I don't think that Pep could fix this team right now.

We've known for a while that the roster was heavily flawed. That falls on Woodward and the rest of the decision makers. And yeah...no one manager can compensate for this roster's flaws. And it will continue to be flawed if the decision makers keep making stupid decisions. One can hope for improvement now that Woodward is gone. One can hope. The dynamics in the locker room aren't the best but even if they were picture perfect, this roster is lacking in too many areas to compete.

I mean this team literally has no defensive mids fit for purpose. Matic is the only player who, in theory, can play there but he's done at this level. The team needs at least 2 true defensive midfielders as a start. Prioritize that and your other mids will look better and your center backs won't look as bad. Then go and get at least 1 forward but likely two. Cavani is likely gone (though I'd keep him if he was willing). I hope Ronaldo is gone come summer. That may be the only good thing to come out of finishing out of the top 4. He's not fit for Rangnick's style. He's likely not going to be fit for the new manager's style. This team is in transition (to put it mildly) and I have no idea what he positives he offers given the team's style of play and the work it has ahead of it.

The roster needs an overhaul. Everything is out of balance. Lots of people need to be dealt. Not a lot of likely candidates to be centerpieces of a championship squad. Pogba if he was interested. Maybe Bruno.

Yall need to do what Arsenal have been doing the last 2 years. Getting rid of those highly paid non-contributing guys no matter what it takes.

We'd love to, but we have to have enough guys to field a team

Now that Kroenke has won the SB I'm sure he will be turning his attention to fixing y'all.

Just like the Glazers did for us last year

In fairness, the Glazers problem hasn't been not spending. It's been hiring ****ty people to tell them who to spend money on and to negotiate how much money they spend. Hopefully Rangnick and the new directors will help correct the last part. But who the hell knows anymore.

The good news is that I can guarantee you we will not throwaway a 1st half lead against Brighton.

The bad news is that we're drawing Brighton. And looking quite bad while doing it.

Ronaldo scores a nice goal after McTominay wins the ball with some high pressing. Soon after Lewis Dunk is sent off after Elanga takes the ball off him with some high pressing.

Amazing what can happen if you actually do what your manager tells you to do.
Dre_00
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Flipped the script a bit. Crap 1st half and went into HT 0-0. Better 2nd half leads to a 2-0 win. Only sealed the win in the 97th minute despite being up a man since the 55th or so. And Brighton had at least two good chances (and more possession than they should have) while down a man.

But whatever...a win is a win at this point.
