If you cant state that people you support make mistakes and have to deal with the consequences, you are just like them. Admit their actions, punish and move on

Theres no punishment for asserting dominance over some players being punks and getting them out of the tunnel

Dude hobbled a cramp up the tunnel. The other had a gun and threw an elbow. Grow up.

You are acting like he punched that kid in the face. Obviously the cop shouldn't have turned around and yelled at the other kid,(not sure why he even did that since they didn't make contact) and maybe there is another video with an angle that shows more, but I'm just not seeing some big violent move to warrant all this outrage.

Turned around and yelled.

The top post on Twitter for Texas A&M right now. You only see turn around and yell? No left shoulder and yell, homie?

I've watched that clip 20+ times. Just not seeing what you are seeing. And yes, he turned around and yelled. Pointed too. Don't know what to tell you.

What was the purpose of the elbow check by the cop?
It made no sense.

I think it's just as simple as the cop wanted to be a badass and came off looking like a dumbass. Looked like an interaction that really wasn't necessary.

Football players bump refs all of the time. Who gets their panties in a wad over that?

Heavens! I'm a Grand 'Ol Dame and I am tougher than many wussies here! Funny.

I'm just a young whippersnapper so I'm not familiar with the term "Grand 'Ol Dame" in this context. I wonder what the apostrophe represents? If it were "Grand Ol' Dame" I could see it being an abbreviation of "Old", but placing it before the letter "O" leaves me befuddled. One of life's great mysteries I guess.

I back the blue just like every other red blooded American but I can't watch that clip and think the officer is acting appropriately and not instigating a college football player.

They didn't exactly give him room to get through. He was about to take shoulder pads to the face.

He threw elbows. Am I insane? Dude inatiated it? Folks, we have cameras. WTF is going on with this board.

Bruh, take shoulder pads to the face?!?! WTF are you on!?

The OIG is looking into whether everyone sufficiently respected his authoritah.

Needless to say no one will be limping back to their sidelines without a shoulder check and strident gesticulation on his watch again. It's ridiculous the mainstream broadcast cam can't be turned off like the body ones.

I don't get why people are saying he was getting them out of the tunnel, or protecting it, or anything like that. That were already out of the tunnel walking back to the game. He did nothing to get them out of the tunnel.

That's been an NCAA rule since The U. Can't run up into the tunnel like that. FWIW.

Yep, the cop was clearly pissed because the player ran up into the tunnel. Also, had the races been reversed this doesn't even make the news! Bunch of liberal trash news outlets trying to make this into something it's not. When LeFlop weighs in you know it's trash

Right! A white player probably doesn't score and a black officer wouldn't feel compelled to try to exert dominance after the fact for the effrontery of limping awry.

Pretty specific fact situation for sure.

What a pos. Very much like MLB umpires who feel the need to bow up and interject themselves into the action when no one is ever there to see them. He wasn't trying to clear the "security breach" of players going into the tunnel. He wasn't talking to them, instructing them, they were already heading back onto the field when he decides to be the tough guy for some dumb azz reason

It only would've been cool if the player pulled out his 6-shooters and pretended to gun down the Trooper.

Do you think that it may have bern because they saw him grab at his hamstring? (Did YOU see that part?) I suggest that you watch the entire clip.

The cop showed his ass. THIS time, we all saw it. At the least, he has anger management issues. This is a prime opportunity to review his other interactions with the public, and review complaints against him.

This.

1. It was intentional.
2. He flexed his authority.
3. He looked like a dumbass.

His job was to guard the tunnel. Why were the SC guys running in there? Just being a little obnoxious on that TD run.

Cops operate with a monopoly on violence. They should absolutely be fired for "mistakes" made in anger.

If his job is to guard the tunnel, then he should be fired for doing a terrible job seeing how he let them into the tunnel in the first place.

Secondly, it wasn't a TD celebration. The guy pulled up with a cramp and hobbled in there.

Yes because that's what players do with a cramp on the field.

oy vey. The guy obviously has an issue that needs to be dealt with...I'll bet he's suffering this morning between calls to the union and the higher ups...I hope the union provides personal damage control services in situations like this...

He needs to take some time to reflect, and be reminded (thru a training class or similar) what his responsibilities are, who he works for, and how to treat them with respect. I'll bet the taxpayers of Texas have a lot invested in the guy - no need to throw that all away.

You're right. It's a common celebration after an 80 yard run to grab your hamstring and start hobbling.

I am a cop. That guy should not be a cop.

Sadly, my profession is riddled with weak, emotional men (and some women) who do the job solely for the nearly unchecked power our society has foolishly given us.

When I see **** like this, I'm embarrassed for all of us who proudly wear our badges and have the integrity to ensure the public's trust in us is warranted

Edit: if that's how that man-child reacts in an extremely public situation do you think he can be trusted at 2am in a poor persons home? I say poor because that's who bullies like this invariably mistreat in our profession. Easy targets.

Of course, if there was some lurker in the tunnell that was off limits to players, and he kicked that receiver in the knee and injured him, you can bet that officer would be be blamed fornot being there to secure the tunnel.

All the national media narrative would be how Kyle Field doesnt protect opposing teams.

To be fair, he wasn't protecting the tunnel. If he was, the players would have never gotten in there.

Social media acting like this is George Floyd 2.0. This is dumb on both sides. SC should get a fine for breaking the rule and tough-guy trooper needs to be removed from game security for the rest of the year.

point was, he was pribably pissed that they ran up the tunnel where they were prohibited from being. And he's being crucified for what resulted.

yes, he handled it wrong, but he would have been blamed if somethinh DID happen in there like that.

And that's ridiculous if you think an officer should be posted there to "prevent " players from doing that. yeah. he shouldve bowled all 6 of them ober to stop them enterimg. get real.
