Hell Jake from State Farm would be an upgrade...
He sounds hideous

Everybody is gonna claim he wants to be a tech tard and not be sad when he leaves and we go get a 30 year old OC afterwards.

Wait for it. It's coming. Sumlin is very loyal to his coaches, as we would want him to be. He's not going to throw them under the bus -- but, he is going to have a new OC. Wait for it, there are a couple of complexities to be worked out. When you hear the name -- you will know the reason for the wait.

This attention is very important to you, isn't it?

Just wait for it.
And for those few "Ags" who are blasting the players - stop. Stop. Stop. Those who would do so are the same you didn't even make their High School practice squad for the Freshman C team.
Kyle Allen and Kyler Murray are both exceptional QBs. We have exceptional WRs. We need a bit of work on the OL. But, most of all we need a new OC that doesn't literally shuffle his index cards to randomly call plays. Sumlin gave the guy every bit of the doubt he could. Now, there is no doubt in Sumlin's mind that there needs to be a change. But, he isn't going to do this publicly.
Sit down, be quite, and wait for it. On game day, stand up and Yell your freakin' heads off for the players in Maroon. They deserve it.

quote:Because he isn't the guy watching a ton of film and coming up with a game plan for the week.
I expect you will have a new OC after this season is over. HUGE or otherwise.
That said, what makes you so sure that Sumlin would be calling a different game than Spav if he took over right now? Sumlin is an offensive guy, he has a headset, he hears the playcalls, and he could override them if he didn't like what he was hearing. You really think Spav is doing something contrary to Sumlin's wishes and Sumlin is just standing there letting it happen? I see no real reason to think those two aren't on the same page.

quote:Agree. In a way, this is not dissimilar to the Malik Jefferson situation. Anyone who is currently employed has a lot to lose if their name were to be leaked out. The whole deal could implode if that were the case. Of those not currently employed, if it were Spurrier, there is no way that he would be announced until after the SC game. But I do get the idea that Sumlin knows the status quo isn't going to work. And if he doesn't know that.....quote:

Sumlin kept his cards close to his chest with the Chavis hire. And everyone raved about how he played it. Anyone who hire, fires, and manages people for a living knows that it's a lengthy process, even more so when multi million dollar contracts are involved. If there's an OC in the works, conversations have been going for a while. That means Sumlin probably knew a change needed to be made a while ago (and why wouldn't he). He's gotten us this far, and made some big waves. I think he'll do it again.
quote:Let's hope so. Like good ADs, HCs keep lists of assistants and their current situations. And what it might take to lure them.quote:
