So are you saying he's on the right track?

Maybe someone who coached, or even played, under Spurrier?
tebow?
wuerfel?

i dont think he's ready to give up a shot at playing NFL but i think tebow may make one helluva coach. but i'd rather not be his first effort.

We need to keep Old Abe out of this, his track record on hiring offensive coordinators was pretty bad till Grant installed the run and shoot.

I'd also avoid Hamilton. He did not run and shoot.

We have a winner!! Rojo didn't write those articles, however, he has cleverly taken "spots" with Spurrier and used them as clues.

-Yellow brick road...see above links
-HUGE...see latest Heisman House commercial.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner!

Which would make Rojo wrong (if the articles are to be believed) because he said that Spav would be demoted and mentored by the new OC

Shocking. There's also sources that quote Sumlin is saying there is no truth to that.

So, someone is lying. Could also be that Sumlin knows Spav has another job already lined up.

Ah, the old vote of confidence. He's definitely out.

Anyone that asks a football coach about job intentions deserves whatever BS answer they get.

The yellow brick road is not in Kansas it can only be found in the land of Oz.

what do you want him to say "maybe, but don't tell Spav or the team as they may get distracted".

besides, he may get demoted.

if Spav is still the OC next year, this site will implode and attendance will look like it did at the end of last week's game.

So OP figures it out and in comes Rojo with the Kansas reference to get us all thinking its Mangino again...
With the mention of Lincoln (twice)...what about Nebraska? what about Bo?
Yellow = corn and Bo coached the huskers and is now at Youngstown State.

Bo is not an offensive coordinator.

BUT, Scott Frost played at Nebraska in Lincoln.
He now coaches for the Oregon Ducks who have Yellow as one of their primary colors.
He coached first in Lincoln and then in Kansas at Kansas State.
He played under Bill Walsh at Stanford and then transferred to Nebraska and played under Tom Osborne.
While in the NFL, he played for Bill Parcells, Bill Belichick, and Jon Gruden.
He has coached on both sides of the ball and is now the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Oregon. Previously he was a receivers coach for Oregon and was praised for instilling toughness and teaching the receivers to be good downfield blockers.

If Sumlin adheres to a last in, first out philosophy, he could easily release Moorehead and hire Frost to be OC and WR coach.

I'm not sure Frost would go for it though. He has a good thing going at Oregon.

ETA: source is wikipedia so take that for what it's worth

That is one hell of a road you followed to put all that together. I'm not even mad about it.

With this coaching carousel, I'd think Frost lands a HC job somewhere.

Maybe. He certainly will in the next couple of years. If he goes to the SEC West and tears it up, he'll be in line for any job he wants. He has only been an OC for a couple of years now.

I view him as kind of like a Kirby Smart. Is the offense doing well because of him, or is he benefiting from having a head coach who essentially runs the same side of the ball?

"Follow the yellow brick road" was probably just a saying. It isn't a clue for anything and Rojo knew it would result in more TexAg dedectiving. He's having more fun with this than any of you are.

Moorehead is the LAST offensive coach I would want gone.

Spav has been bad as a QB coach and bad as an OC. The jury is still out on DC, but this OL isn't getting better and is a constant weak point. McKinney has been here for all 4 years and has yet to make our run game a threat or do much in recruiting besides a guy here and there.

Offense has been on a slow decline for last 3 years - no reason to fire the newest guy on the staff as he is the least likely to be responsible.

ROJO's yellow brick road comment... Theories:

1. I know zero about West Virginia, but I am aware that their colors are yellow and blue. Any chance they have a yellow road or sidewalk or something at or around their stadium? That would lead to to Holgorsen

2. The yellow brick road lead to Emerald City. Emerald City is a nickname for Seattle. Our new OC is somewhere in Seattle. Maybe stopping off in Pullman to grab Mike Leach.

Also a Seattle possibility is Seahawks OC Darrell Bevell, which is close to bevel, which is the perfect choice.

3. There is a real yellow brick road in Wamego, KS. No clue here.

4. L Frank Baum is from Holland, MI, home of the real yellow brick road. Jim Harbaugh is our next OC.

Solved.

If this goes into the off season (after bowl game), Rojo knows nothing. Every fan on this site could have predicted we would be changing OC's and a HUGE name is always up for argument when new coach named.

That said, still waiting... if a change happens after reg. season and before bowl game, he mightve been correct depending on hire.

It's a very tin foilish thought, but if it IS Spurrier, the question has to be - setting our bias aside - WHY he would come here??? A cross-country move for a guy in his 70s who is used to being top dog? We added a highly regarded Chavis (who probably realized LSU would never pass Bama with Les at the helm). Spurrier would be absolutely HUGE.

Consider. Saban is abrasive. Sustained success breeds a longer list of enemies. Would Spurrier do it if there was added incentive of participating in an elaborate plan to take down Saban? Spurrier has enough money, has NC, prestige, .... Why would he possibly come here? What if there are very powerful/wealthy playas who are trying to build A&M to knock Bama off its national perch? Then why don't they do this at Auburn or Florida, you ask? The added allure of A&M is that we are newcomers, possess almost limitless potential, commitment, huge fan base, may have more money to spend (we certainly have the shiniest new stadium in the SEC) and KS is a minority coach. Many of us want to see minority coaches, especially, succeed. If the Bama dynasty is unseated by A&M, it's more impressive, and much sweeter.

I know - massively tin foilish. MASSIVELY.
