Weight's been fluctuating +/- 2-3# the last week but I think I'm squarely in the lower 160's now.

Fell off the wagon from my (admittedly pretty crazy) weight loss in 2020, where I dropped 75 pounds in 8 months. Was too ashamed to weigh myself since basically October 2020.

The weight is back, all of it, and it brought some friends. Rejoining this thread trying to look forward and not backward.

Got a full week of measurements in. I always find tracking a lot of numbers very motivating.

Monday I was at 220.3
Today I'm at 214.2

This kind of fluctuation is pretty normal for me during the week. The best comparison for me is one Saturday to the next. And tracking the movement of my seven-day average.

Sat at around 170 for almost two weeks due to covid and minimal, if any, physical activity. I'm still within my normal fluctuation range (165-175), so if I can get it below 165 then I'll know I'm on to something.

I remember seeing a number at the beginning that wasn't a "2" was one of the best feelings I've ever had. Congrats!

Doing a No Sugar No Grains diet and have been decent sticking to it but need to make it through that initial 6-8 week stage. Also trying to get 3-5 miles in walking a day taking kids to school, around the neighborhood etc. Also have a mat in home office to do planks, pushups, squats, etc. during breaks.

Official starting weight on 1/10 was 220.3
Today I am at 212.7

Had a *pretty* good week. Didn't behave as well as I would've liked on Wednesday but otherwise I was VERY compliant with my diet rules. I give myself a B.

I was on a rest week so no exercise to speak of this week but back into the program on Monday (5 lifting sessions, 2 HIIT).

Starting to get some good data. Seven day average weight is trending down at about 1-2lbs/wk. Estimated body fat trending down QUITE nicely.

Started off cheat day with some yogurt with granola and honey. About to drink some coffee with cream and sugar. Throwing a big party tonight Cane Rosso, our favorite pizza place, is catering. I will drink some beer. Tiff's Treats delivery toward the end of the night. Will be enjoying myself for sure!

Everybody keep us updated on progress!

Mine started last year with only running. Went from 223 to 209 between September and Thanksgiving. Stopped from Thanksgiving to first week of January.

1/10: 213
1/22: 208

Back to running ~10 miles/week (going to increase that) and cut potatoes, breads, and most processed sugars. Peanut butter crackers are my weakness early in the diet. Also 16/8 IF. Fruit and oatmeal are the only carbs I really eat.

Updated the spreadsheet this morning -- clipping along at just under 2 lbs/wk.

I'm a very big fan of using 7-day averages for tracking purposes.

I also like this chart. Tracks my 7-day high and low.

Staying motivated. Just started the beginnings of an at home gym for the wife and I. Going to get more mats and such. But looking forward to some good sessions in here!

Stall mats would be better for lifting. I used to use those puzzle mats, but they tore apart pretty easily.... tractor supply $50

I recently bought a rower and finished setting up my home gym. No excuses now.

After 2 years of successful living life and avoiding the Rona Omicron finally caught me. Thankfully nothing worse that your normal cold.

Turns out diet is most of my problem. I was down 3-4 lbs in the couple weeks since I started exercising, but the lack of appetite and healthy eating the past few days has me down some lbs.

Question: I've lost about 20 lbs in the last 2 months. I've hit a wall and don't seem to be making any progress lately. I'm following the same regimen with counting calories, exercise and eating clean.
Has this happened to anyone?
Any suggestions?
Bunk Moreland
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Stall happens often. I lost ~65 pounds about 4 years ago over the course of 7 months and hit multiple stalls...mostly during the last 30. Others on here who are health experts will know way more than me but basically your metabolism slows and your body is resisting the urge to lose more after you've dropped a certain amount already. What helped me was:

Exercise more or just keep moving around longer throughout the day. Change up when during the day you exercise every once in a while if able.

Increase water intake (even if you already drink a lot of water)

Change up eating patterns/habits with intermittent fasting. Keep your body guessing and don't let it get comfortable with the same old pattern every day.
