Everything was ok until I pulled out of the driveway and then the cops pulled me over cause I was trying to give a guy a ride. The guy jumped off and ran but they handcuffed me and had me in the back seat for hours like that until they caught him which was cruel and unusual punishment

It's unclear what led up to this shooting, but police are asking anyone with information to call the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or speak anonymously with Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.

Um he got off on murder charges last week. What is unclear about this shooting? Someone wasn't happy he was on the street.

And Liquorians mom doesn't know why her kids keep dying.

I'm pretty sure the death penalty isn't actually a deterrent and has been proven out through some study or some such. You'd have to value life to care if yours gets taken.

Well, there's also a big disconnect. It takes 20 years to exhaust appeals, even when there isn't a doubt about who did it. Then the perp just disappears. There might be a little more concern when it's Larry from English class swinging from the flagpole out front.

I used to be an ardent advocate of the death penalty, but recent events all over the country including multiple exonerations here in Texas have changed my mind. The justice system is too easy to manipulate and politicize against an unpopular defendant and those years and years of appeals may be necessary to undo a wrong verdict reached by a biased judge or prosecution.
