I had never heard of this one. I looked it up and holy crap what a terrible location. How many microbrew drinkers are hanging out/living around Parker Rd and 59N?

Used to see them in bars, but always underwhelming. Town in City and City Acre I often conflated.
I think they switched their model to a family friendly beergarden model, but I also think they didn't have the right location for it.
Next one I'm concerned about is Eureka Heights. I don't have an inside information, but seems that they've shrunken back the number of offerings and are launching a seltzer business, which, anecdotally, has been a harbinger of the end for breweries in the area.

Somehow came across this thread again, was fun to go back and read some of those posts in 2011-2013. Ahh the Rockwell days. One of my last posts was about a new brewery in Magnolia.. Lone pint. I left Houston around that time.
But man, 44 pages for 2011-2014. Then just ~8 more pages since.

Casey left a couple months ago as well. I go often and the beer is still good.
Most of us got old and our craft brewing outings were reduced down to whatever one was the closest to our home, preferably one that lets kids run wild.
Plus you can go to HEB and get beers from most of the local breweries, when back then you could only get them at the breweries. Couldn't tell you the last time I've even been to one, which I think is the case for a lot of people since breweries are closing left and right.

hah ain't that the truth. I am certainly apart of that group. Had no kids while posting on this thread, now have a 10 and 11 year old
We still go to brew pubs on road trips or out of town though, pretty much every time. We were in rapid city a month ago and did sturgis brewing and firehouse brewing. I just find we are rarely disappointed in the food/beer and atmosphere, so we've stuck to the formula for a long time now.
Don't really visit all the ones in and around Denver very often, but we still go to our couple of local spots a few times a month. One has great pizza, the other has good rotating food trucks, and they are 3 miles from home.
I keep reading bits about gen z not drinking as much.. maybe they're to blame!
In vacation spots and cities with younger populations I can see breweries and brew pubs still holding on. Gen Y is drinking less and half of the millennial crowd has switched over to seltzers. Metro Houston has been growing but Houston city limits has been stagnant. Part of that is we aren't in an oil boom like how it was when those of us from 35-45 experienced when we were graduating college. Sure young people that do get jobs here move to Houston. But there isn't the large numbers of young professionals that we saw flocking to Houston during that time. Since there isn't the same crowd to replace those of us that had kids and moved on out to suburbia, the Houston beer scene is contracting since it overexpanded for a market that is just no longer there.
As far as the lack of activity on this thread. There just hasnt been much to talk about until breweries all started closing. A Saint Arnold special release is no longer a big deal. its not hard to get at HEB.

Funny to think back to the days of 'sh*t HEB/specs got pumpkinator/divine/KBS/special release' and jump up from your desk to run and fight another neck beard for one - kinda like the bourbon bros now

EH gets pretty good distro so I'd be shocked (and sad) if they fold.
New Magnolia on the other hand... no idea how they have stayed open. I'm assuming the owner has really deep pockets
