I was just taking a harder look at that labeling/branding... is SA trying to make a beer that kinda breaks free of "Saint Arnolds"?

also had Karbach 'Sympathy' lager at Backyard tonight... another damn fine brew from those guys. Im looking forward to everything Karbach is putting out, cant wait to try thier IIPA!
I got an email today saying Backyard was going to be putting No Label and Ranger Creek into their rotation.
yep, the waitress said the owner is making them all become "Beer-istas" focusing on Texas craft beers and having them all taste and memorize the new offerings.
Im excited to see the owner get excited about local & state craftbrews, along with the other craft offerings they have.
I also signed up for the beer club tonight, sounds like we need to start hitting BYG weekly for a HH.

Had a sympathy for the lager at El Gran Malo tonight. I was very happy with it. Looking forward to trying some of their other stuff.

Meh. Kind of what I expected for the Santo. Not too excited. Gonna try to pick up sixer this weekend to give it a shot.

El Gran Malo.
Santo is pretty tasty. I agree that the mouthfeel reminded me of lawnmover when I first tried it. Can't wait to try it on tap.
Probably won't be a staple in my fridge, but I would have no problem picking up a sixer every so often. Feel like this would be a great tailgating beer.
And jetch, let's hit BYG one day next week for HH.

Stopped off at the new Kroger in Conroe on my way home looking for Santo. No Santo, but there was a sixer of Summer Pils in the seasonal spot. Score!

OK, so im having a couple more Santos tongiht and its definately better ice cold (last night wasnt quite all the way cooled)
Tastes like a cross of negra modelo made with lawnmower yeast.
Has kind of a watery finish that i guess some would consider clean, but i like a little lingering afternote.

Had rodeo clown last night. It was good for sure, but it was more malty than I was expecting for a double IPA.
Tried a sample of NL's black wit-o. Didn't really care for it. It had a very smoky after taste.

Ada, I had the rodeo clown DIPA last night as well with my dinner at BRC. I agree with you. It was good, but malty and not the hop bomb I was expecting. They had Santo on tap but we ended up getting a few bottles of wine so I never got around to trying it. They also had Clutch still available on tap.

Wouldnt say its in my top 5 like Spadilly, buy definitely enjoy Midas Touch...one of my favorite DFH brews.
