Snow flurries in Southlake. I worked the elementary drop off line this morning. I was in full ski gear less the face gaiter and boy did I miss it. Face was numb!

I moved out of the D/FW area and man these threads really put things into perspective.
We got six inches of snow yesterday and the forecasted low tonight is -10. Like the actual low, not wind chill. I had icicles forming on my eyelashes and eyebrows yesterday when I was using my snowblower to clear my driveway and the sidewalks in my neighborhood. That said, we are much better equipped for stuff like this. I hope everyone stays safe and warm. I'll do my best to keep all the really cold weather up here in Kansas

So far the cold water to the kitchen sink froze (which seems to happen every time no matter what we do) along with the master shower hot and cold (which has never froze even when we lost power for 3 days during the '21 freeze). Hoping the shower is between the handle and the shower head since that part goes into the attic and I don't know what else could freeze.
Parking lots are the worst I've seen. They just refuse to turn off the damn sprinklers overnight.

I know they would never but the city should significantly fine every idiotic company and home that refuses to turn off. There was a near accident on Preston b/c a car hit its brakes in advance of a sprinkler-made ice rink.
I guess if they don't fine it would be an instance where I would be 100% supportive of a lawsuit against the home or property management group...its not hard....turn the f-ing sprinklers off...they do not need to run in January or early February....
I drove both directions on I-20 this morning between 35E and 360. No issues. Everybody driving 70-80.
But did they have their hazard lights on like a good motorist in these treacherous road conditions?Quote:

Hard to imagine but I will probably be in shorts next week helping to clear brush at my Mom's place southwest of Houston
Forecast shows 70 for Monday in Plano.

Right, but our starting point for the drop is looking to be a fair amount lower

10 in McKinney. Feels like -3. Frozen mustache on my run this AM.
How's everyone's pool holding up so far?
Little bit of ice off the water features but water is moving and freeze protection is doing its thing.
Pump hasn't run since Monday. Pool hasn't iced over at all...granted it is salt water so that helps. A stock tank west of Cisco is frozen though.
pool shut down, thin sheet of ice in spa. Sun should rake care of that today. Restart on Sat.
Had to get out to go to physical therapy in Allen. SOOOOOO COLD. Also my ankles feel like the tin man.
Pool pump has been running constantly since we hit freezing temps. It's good to see that so I'll know everything is working for when we pull out of this freeze.
How is everyone's Freeze Miser(s) working?
I'm getting some pretty tall ice cones forming under and sometimes over the unit. However, it continues to drip even when the ice is covering the unit. This is the 3rd year for these 3 Freeze Miser units I use on my house exterior faucets.
