This is fairly misleading imo - the time frame seems locked in but the intensity is pretty far from certain as there isn't much consensus between model suites or even op runs with intensity. We aren't even in range for all of the ops yet.

This wouldn't just be a north Texas thing. Much of the state gets drilled with the cold temps. This is going to be an ERCOT test.
Speaking with an Ag neighbor in energy, they are concerned about this one.

It's funny how static the freeze line was on Thursday. In south Arlington, all I had was cold rain all day long. My friend in Pantego (maybe 4 miles north) had 6" of snow.

Fox is rinky dink. The studio lighting is always terrible and their radar/forecast maps look like they're from the 90s.
What's wrong with the 90s? Just give me the news, weather, and traffic in PowerPoint style. Maybe it's just me, but I don't need an immersive experience and VR graphics to be told the forecast.

So I traded the snow and ice of Dallas for the snow of Utah this week. It was snowing hard on my drive from the airport to my hotel yesterday. Naturally I pulled over to the right lane and turned my hazards on. I figure everyone up here appreciates that sort of thing.

Models show the cold arriving Saturday now. Won't be below freezing Saturday but we'll drop with wind chills into the 30s.
Sunday - Tuesday increasingly look like they will all be spent below freezing. Maybe some flurries Sunday morning, otherwise no obvious precip for the first part of the week.
