Crazy,I think the eyes give it away. But from what I've seen posted here, from tan to black, & to almost red..
Asking the experts how that happens?

This snake was just in the mouth of a frog in my garage and lived. Can anyone ID it for me? It's about 8-10 inches long.

Here it was in the frog's mouth before the frog let it go. I wonder if it bit the frog internally and I've got a dead frog somewhere by the house.

I'm guessing maybe the frog just realized it couldn't swallow it.

I'm interested in what 12F and Zoo say about this one.

I've got some great videos of the whole thing. I couldn't believe what I was watching.

Toads and frogs will try to eat anything they think they can put in their mouths. Bullfrogs will eat about anything. Small ducks, snakes, etc. That's not very surprising.

Definitely the least picky eaters out there.

Also seems like they spend almost their whole lives figuring out how to aim for prey. Frogs and toads miss potential meal targets so much it is amazing to me they have survived the evolutionary process.

Early in TPWD career my office was on a state fish hatchery. The hatchery had 66 ponds. Bullfrogs love bass fingerlings. The hatchery mgr. told our crew to "go get 'em". Mostly, at night, we just shined a bright light on them and grabbed them by hand. What a frog leg feast!

No. It's a rat snake.

I was thinking chameleon, it blends with chair pretty well.

Combination of poor picture quality and shadowing. It's 100% a rat snake based on pattern, body shape, location and movement style.

Snakes were really on the move yesterday in central Texas. I saw 4, including a large copperhead

House down the street still under construction and had a PBWS try to move in early. The construction manager told me he killed a "Cottonmouth" and sent me this picture later.

Sad that it's now mouse food instead of eating them.

Can't see the head very clearly but would guess some sort of water snake. I'm not an expert.

My thought as well, almost looked like a rat snake except for the darker pattern on the bottom made me think of blotched WS

East Texas. They live across the street from a lake on the golf course, so water snake wouldn't be a surprise. I initially said rat snake but changed to water snake after a second look.

Went to go change the batteries in my camera and found this good size black racer hanging out underneath. He had just gone through the hurricane Milton storm surge and looked tired and angry so I didn't get too close. Usually they take off running as soon as they spot me so I assumed he was just worn out.

Yeah it's definitely one of the Nerodia water snakes. Since I was a kid, I have always referred to the adult ones with clearly defined blotches as Blotched Water Snakes. That's not technically correct and I'm sure 12fmane/Badace could tell you why but that's how I have always remembered them.

What is this guy that has a burrow in my backyard?

Sarasota, Florida. A little over 1 foot long.

Edit: adding another backyard pic of an ibis eating a snake. A heron harassed the ibis, but he didn't let go of the meal. Hard to tell because the pic is looking through a screen, and the screen is covered in debris from Milton.

Yes it is, commonly called a Milksnake. I'm sure Florida has a specific subspecies that I'm not aware of

Thanks! I was wondering if there was a specific species to the area. Couldn't tell between scarlet kingsnake and milk snake.
