FYI, on scope bases and rings, Talley Manufacturing out of South Carolina is really hard to beat. Their client service is amazing. I ordered a Bergara base from their website and it was shipped 2 hours later; and received it 2 days later.

I don't want to derail this thread, but these last 2 posts are relevant... if I wanted a 22LR handgun to shoot suppressed, what would you guys recommend? My first thought was some version of the Ruger Mark IV, but I know there are other options out there.

Part of why I got this one. Boys are getting closer to shooting age, and I didnt have a threaded .22 to put a can on. Buying a Rugged Occulus to put on this sometime in 2024…..

Its also why I went 4.5 instead of 6 inch barrel.

Anyone shot a mini-Mamba with a Deadair Mask? I have a Ruger Mark IV Lite with a Volquartsen bolt. Was thinking of getting the VQ trigger but then why not just got full on Mini-Mamba and sell the Mark IV?

Can get the upper for around $500 if your local gun shop can order it. Might save you a little money and you get to have both.

I saw a bolt action .30-30 at a gun shop yesterday. It was a really odd design, looked to be controlled round feed but not in the Mauser 98 style. They wanted $600 for it.

I have one. Fun rifle. I shoot two inch groups at 100 yards open sites.

Not sure if it worth 600. Maybe half that.

It was the department store version of the Savage 340

It was one of the weirdest rifles I've ever seen. Enough that I was tempted, but not for $600.
