I forgot to ask after beating Uncharted 4... Is that spin off game (Lost Legacy) worth playing?

I forgot about that one. I am about to finish Last of Us 2 and then was going to start either Red Dead Redemption 2 or God of War (2018) which would be the first GOW game I've ever played.
I took a long time off from video games so I am catching up. YouBet said:
I'm now playing Elden Ring for first time. Trying not to rage quit.
Everywhere I go; I die. And this is the "easy" souls game, supposedly.

souls and elden ring games have ruined my enjoyment of other games now. All other RPGs just feel dumb.
At least there are a lot of soulslikes to go through and once you "get gud", they aren't really that hard and I'm honestly not even that good. Very enjoyable playstyle.

Finished KDC2. Great game.
Started Clair Obscure E33. Not 100% sure what to think yet. Its fantastic looking and sounding, and the story is interesting. Not sure where I'm at on turn-based combat yet.

It's nearly all the best parts of turn based combat that's ever existed. Unfortunately turn based isnt near as popular as it used to be, but for those of us who have waited so long the game is such a treat.

I can't stand souls type games, I game to chill not stress out and get frustrated. Same reason I dont like Madden, I get too angry when they drop a perfect pass.
I am really back into Helldivers 2. Such a fun game when you stumble into a squad that communicates and works together.

I quit Bloodborne after 10 minutes. I'm not spending hours trying to figure out how to get past the very first creature in the game. Screw "dying is part of it."
I made some slow progress on ER tonight. Feeling slightly better about it now.

And I'm done with all the individual replies. Sorry for all the posts, I'm just a FromSoft fanboy and LOVE talking about these games.

I've had Elden Ring installed for a while, but haven't jumped in, mainly because all the reviews say it's quite challenging. Starting it today based on this thread.

I quite enjoyed Dark Souls, but I had a lot more free time back then!

It is definitely challenging but incredibly worth it. Such an amazing game.
Some helpful hints for a newbie (no spoilers)I could literally list out so many more helpful hints. However, if you start playing and have questions, please create a new thread and I'm sure I'm not the only one who would be excited to answer them and help you out.
- FromSoft games have VERY LITTLE dialogue or tool tips. So anytime you meet an NPC, always talk to him/her and PAY ATTENTION to what they say. Elden Ring has many NPC questlines. However, basically all of them are optional and reward really cool weapons or equipment. On that note, be careful just attacking anything you see. If you happen to see a person who just looks different from normal enemies, try talking to them before attacking them.
- All lore in the game can be found through NPC dialogue and Item descriptions. If you want to know more, read the item description of everything you pickup.
- When talking to an NPC, ALWAYS keep talking to them until they repeat themselves. It's a FromSoft thing that NPC's will talk to you, then stop. You have to physically press the Talk button to keep talking to them, because they always have more to say. Keep doing this until they begin to repeat themselves.
- EXPLORE THE STARTING AREAS. There are several S-Tier weapons to be found in the starting zones. Hell, I believe the best weapon in the game is literally a 2 minute ride from where you start. East Limgrave, West Limgrave, and the Weeping Peninsula are all low level zones, that you are capable of clearing from the start. There is literally 25 hours worth of content in these three zones, alone. As you then progress through the game, the zones get smaller and begin to level up. Use these areas to level up, learn the game, and play with different types of weapons.
- Focus on a particular weapon type of style. Don't put all your stat points scattered aimlessly. You will be able to respec after the second story boss, but that could potentially be 30 hours in, depending on how much you spend exploring.
- Vigor increases your overall HP. There's a "soft cap" of 40 Vigor and a harder cap at 60 Vigor. If a boss ever one-shots you, you are either underleveled or don't have enough investment into Vigor.
- Mind is your overall FP (Focus Points). This is required to use magic abilities or to use weapon arts. If you are not playing a magic user, you really don't need much FP. A single FP Estus Flask is enough to support you using Weapon Arts.
- Endurance increases your stamina and max weight load. You need enough stamina to get off a few attacks, without running out. FromSoft games are NOT games you can just sit there and get off 4-5 hits with a standard weapon without getting hit, yourself. Stamina regenerates rather quickly and can be increased with Talismans. Equip Load is actually the more important thing. There are three Equip loads in Elden Ring: Light, Medium, and Heavy. You can look up the percentages, but you always want to aim for Medium. Light is fine, if you like very fast builds, but your defense will suffer. However, Light allows you a greater roll distance when dodging. Medium is the standard. If you ever get to Heavy equip load, you will begin "fat-rolling". Basically, do not do this as a newbie. You will die a lot.
- Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, Faith, Arcane: These are your damage/build stats. You should only be putting points into the stats required for your build. How do you know? Look at the stats for the weapon you want to wield. There is a section for every weapon regarding "Scaling" and "Requirements". Requirements are the required Stats to simply use the weapon. Scaling tells you where to put most of your points in. For example, if a sword you really like has a Strength Scaling of B and a Dexterity Scaling of C, then you want to focus more on Strength, because it scales your damage better.
- DO NOT focus on Scaling too much in the early game. You get much more damage boosts from improving the quality of your weapons. Scaling is more of a mid to late game thing. Early game you should focus on Vigor, Endurance, and get the "Requirement" level stat for whichever weapon you want to wield. If you do not meet the stat requirements, your damage is basically nothing with that weapon.
- Learn to dodge, early on. The core mechanic to most FromSoft games exists around timing your rolls and then attacking in between the enemy's attacks. When you roll, there are a certain number of "I-Frames" or Invincibility Frames your character goes through. During this time, 95% of all attacks in the game will not hit you. This is the "dance" that new FromSoft players have to learn. There is a learning curve to it, but once you get it, the game because so much easier.
- Status Effects are OP. If you are a newbie, I HIGHLY recommend a build using a Bleed weapon. Bleed is a status effect that builds up an invisible bar for every enemy, every time you hit them. Once that bar fills, they are immediately ruptured for 10% of their total HP. Massive damage output, there. Then the bleed bar restarts.
At the end of the day, just enjoy this great game. There are many "Gatekeepers" in the FromSoft fandom who like to shame new players for using certain mechanics. Ignore all that bull***** If you want to use Summons for boss fights, then do it. Whatever allows you to enjoy the game, just do it.
