Gearing up for Dragon Age: Veilguard tomorrow, though I've heard some less than stellar reviews.

I am going to wait and see how folks get along with Veilguard before picking it up. I feel like it is going to be one of those things that its hard to find an honest review on.

COD Black Ops just dropped and I have it via Xbox Gamepass.

I've really been enjoying it! I don't play enough COD anymore to know how it stacks up vs. others, but to me it feels like the same old formula that hooked me 20 years ago. I've only played MP so far but looking forward to the campaign.

Skillup is a great reviewer. He has zero interest in any sort of 'culture war' issue so if he is bringing up that kind of dialogue, you know it's for sure bad.


But I am playing Deadlock and Balatro.

I saw that same review. That review was pretty scathing. I remember he said something like he adjusted the difficulty down to the easiest setting, not because the game was hard, but because of the tedium and repetition of the combat. Yikes!

Just finished veilguard.

Combat was pretty repetitive, but most of the boss fights were fun. Very much like inquisition.

Storyline is pretty blah until the end.

Game feels more like a playable movie after the half way point with all the cutscenes.

While lots of regional quests, didn't seem like there were lots of fetching quests like other DA games.

Puzzles are hard (not really but not exactly intuitive in lots of cases)

Overall about 66/67 hours on the second challenge level. Maybe good for 1 more play through as an a-hole vs nice guy.

Started Dragons Dogma 2 on PS5 pro, to actually try it with a decent graphics experience.

Wound up not even starting Veilguard and refunded it. I may pick it up at some point down the road. Been playing some Wayfinder the last few days

I've been intrigued by Old School RuneScape but am afraid about getting sucked into it.

Currently I am playing Path of Exile but I'm about done with this league.

My fall back games are Turtle WoW and Fortnite.

I'd like to get into a casual MMORPG. In the past I enjoyed Guild Wars 2 and WoW (Classic and Retail).

You'll 100% get sucked into it, especially at the start. There's a reason the game has been around for 20 years and still sees 200,000 people playing at peak times every day.

It's a grindfest, but can be really rewarding. Unironically, it's one of my favorite games of all time

After too many years, I am finally done with Destiny and am struggling to find something else to motivate me. I basically play a game of Teamfight Tactics or two a night

I'm sure that OSRS one is WAYYYYY worse.....lol.

It's not the best thing I've ever played, but it's pretty good with a relatively engaging gameplay loop, ample character options, and a reasonably engaging ARPG story. The art style is good. It can get a little repetitive, which in part I think is just a consequence of being an ARPG. At the very least, I'm finding it worth the $25 asking price.

I did see one review that said something along the lines of "every conversation in the game feels like HR is sitting in the room." Could be funny at least.

Well when you see who the game director is, its not exactly hard to see why it turns out that way

Just beat Breath of the Wild. Having not played video games in years and never having played the switch before, I got my ass handed to me early in the game while I was trying to figure out the controls. I always loved the Zelda games growing up and played them from the NES up to Twighlight Princess. Twighlight Princess and A Link To The Past were my favorites until now. Breath of the Wild blew my mind. It's probably the most beautiful video game I've ever played. I'll be starting Tears of the Kingdom tonight and I'm excited.

Thanks for the feedback! For $25 it looked like a fun one to fart around with a couple of friends.

Nice. Two of the greatest games of all-time.

Hopefully you can get through TotK without getting burned out, having just finished BotW.

BotW is in my top 3 games of all time. I've beaten it a few times and absolutely love that game. TotK I've started twice and just stopped playing both times from feeling burnt out.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2: Heart of Chornobyl comes out next Wednesday, but i dont do preorders anymore. I'll be keeping an eye on reviews.

Just finished the storyline of Jedi Survivor. Well done!

Still on Star Wars Outlaws but have started DB Sparking Zero. Fun what if scenarios to unlock in the story mode.

Will likely hit the new life is strange game next

I had been playing Skyrim with the Ro modlist. Completely overhauls the game graphically. Great way to experience the game again.

Just started Metal Slug Tactics, it's great.

I took a long break when I was about 90% through the game and then came back and beat the last 10% or so this last week, so I'm not worried about burnout.

Thinking about trying this, just don't love tower defense games (which this is, right?)

I have Metal Slug Anthology on the Wii. Loved that collection.
Became very proficient at the original Metal Slug

It is actually a turn based strategy game. It has some roguelike elements as well.

Mainly helldiving at night with a little Civ 6 sprinkled in. I'm pretty much done with D4 for the season. Thinking about some DOTA time.

i'm normally a sports game only kind of gamer, but i recently started disco elysium as a change of pace. it is very entertaining so far. pretty slow pace but the writing is excellent. its basically a video game version of inside out, but the main character (you) is an alcoholic detective.

Having a lot of fun with Dragonball Sparking Zero still. The story mode is great

So I purchased the Anniversary Edition that has all of the DLC stuff, but I can't use mods without the game crashing by 10 min into it. I don't remember whose mod list I used but are you having any crashes with this? I'm on Xbox so maybe that's why.
