Tactician is a significant jump in difficulty over Knight. Knight is basically the classic game's difficulty. Tactician is improved AI for enemies, and enemies do like 25-30% more damage, and you do 25% less damage

Did the Arch Raiders server slam over the weekend. New extraction shooter from Embark Studios. Releases Oct 30th. Had a blast playing it with my buddies

OK, that makes me feel better. That chocobo popped off for like 2/3 of my character's health in one hit and I was swinging back for 8 at a time.

It came down to one unlucky dodge and I would've been wiped, so I had to restart.

Tactician is kind of overtuned for the random battles. Almost done though. Just need to drop through Midnight's Deep and pick up that last summon to platinum on the first playthrough. That's kind of rare these days.

I've only ever played the OG so I'm having a harder time adjusting to the translation and the new name for skills than anything.

I miss my stasis sword!

Just polished off my Platinum last night. Huzzah. I'll be back if they add dark knight or multiplayer. Perfect Steam Deck game IMO.

Is anyone playing Escape from Duckov?

It's a PvE only duck version of Escape from Tarkov. It sounds goofy, but it's actually really fun.

I played Tarkov on and off for a couple of years, but I dont have the time investment anymore to "Git Gud" and was always outplayed by sweaty players a week or two after each wipe.

This one hits all of the right spots for me, while having smooth jazz play in the background for the times where I get owned and lose all of my stuff.

It reminds me a lot of Dave the Diver in that it's a relatively obscure indie game that comes out of nowhere and has a very high playerbase and is really enjoyable to play.

I feel like they went way overboard with revamping the script for the remaster - maybe I am not remembering it as well, as I think my last playthrough was a decade ago, but it definitely feels like they laid a lot of the themes on way thicker. The original script felt much more ambiguous and morally gray.

Just finished Return to Moria, got sucked in a few months back and enjoyed it for the most part. Just started the Outer Worlds 2 on Gamepass. Tried the previous OW and quit not far into it. Will see how this one goes but gameplay seems to be quite a bit improved so far.

Got about 2/3 through Far Cry Primal and moved on. Once you accomplish the two main story lines there is really no reason to continue after that.

Now playing Ghost Recon Breakpoint which is a direct sequel to Ghost Recon Wildlands. I want to live on the island they created for this game. It's beautiful!

In case anyone missed it, EU 5 dropped yesterday. Will be trying it out this weekend.

Just finished FFT and loved it. I agree with your comment - it felt way easier to follow this time through, and not just because I'm not 11 years old anymore. I feel like they explain things thoroughly. Even things like the previously-ambiguous part of the ending seemed pretty explicit.

Not sure what to play next! Maybe I'll finish Sea of Stars.

After Tactics I decided to play Final Fantasy X. Finished that, now on to Final Fantasy VIII

Finally playing through Alan Wake II. Amazing game and music, just like the 1st one.

But seriously... screw that old lady in the nursing home and her jump scares. So much nope!

I played through the original about a month before the release again to 100% it. Did the remaster after it dropped. They did tweak the script a bit but really it's pretty close and I enjoyed it just as much. It was a bit heavier handed than the original translation but still very good. I also felt the voice acting was very well done. I can't think of one part that was just a clunker that really disrupted the immersion.

Really looking forward to both Beyond and Second Chapter. I think we'll get SC next year as well. It wouldn't surprise me if they whip through and maybe skip the Third chapter and go right to remaking the Crossbell arc but either way it was a really great way to bring people in.

If you haven't played 6, the pixel remaster is great. Good game to have on a hand held.

While I'm currently grinding BF6, I am working through Sea of Stars on the side. It is pretty fun! Some of the battles can be difficult to get through.

FFVIII is a tough sell for a lot of people but it absolutely has some of the best music in the mainline series (in my opinion).

I am currently attempting to make the jump from Civ 6 to EU4 and it's not going well. Information overload!

VI is really fun, but I've mostly been experiencing it randomly through Worlds Collide.

Starting Avowed and really liking the vibe and combat feel.

Just finished Spider-Man Myles Morales... fun game that I saved for December given the winter setting. Short and sweet (which more games need to be IMO).

Fired up Watch Dogs Legion on the PS5 (free on PS+)... I've already beaten it on the Series X, but man I love this game and it's time for a replay. Anybody else like this one? I know some people really didn't like it, but I'm a huge fan of the setting with lots of dark / rainy days. I'm also a big fan of recruiting a team with the Permanent Death option enabled... adds a real sense of high stakes that most games don't touch.

The total cheese strat is to have auto potion with x potions, the heal on movement and monk for chakra. Then boost your speed over and over and over (and over again). You get to like ~30 speed and you just roll through. Total cheese.

Was playing the Outer Worlds 2, and got through the DeVries mission, and then sat back and thought "wtf am I doing?" Was not engaged in the story at all.

Was then browsing Gamepass and saw The Evil Within 2, gave it a try and I'm hooked. Fantastic game so far.

Just finished up Indiana Jones. Was a ton of fun. Nice exploration mechanics and fun story.

Im old and have kids and so even though my steam library is full of big epics like Skyrim, Witcher, Halo MCC, its modern arcadey stuff like this and Utopia Must Fall are what keep me showing up to play on my steamdeck during my precious down time. i can pick it up and put it down whenever and its a blast.

ARC Raiders. This is the game of the year for me. It's really amazing what a small studio can do to put out a quality game. I haven't had more fun playing any other game with my friends.

This one is pretty fun.

FF12 remaster. The 4x speed really makes all the difference (that and the improved license boards system). I kinda hated it the first time through, almost 20 years ago.
