If we get nothing more on MP4, I'm gonna be pissed. It's been 4 freaking years.

At the very least, I'd hope for a full title, a release date, and maybe some artwork or promotional images.

Maybe too soon for gameplay or a trailer.

I think the big question on MP4 is how big of a reset they did with development a couple years ago. If Retro Studios really started over from scratch, that means it has only been in development for about half the time since the original announcement.

Honestly? Looking forward to new Zelda. Really liked BOTW.

Also hoping for more than 1 or 2 Switch original game releases per quarter instead of just trotting out 7 year old Wii U Ports for $59.

That's my only 1 gripe about the switch.

Thankfully we are getting a reboot of Advance Wars...lol.

The BOTW2 segment was okay.

They seriously just announced and showed FOOTAGE of a brand new Metroid game before even the tiniest bit of information about Metroid Prime 4...

Unreal.

Wow. I'm super thrilled about Metroid Dread, and the BOTW2 footage was neat, but I'm incredibly disappointed overall. No mention of the 35th anniversary for Metroid, and only a passing mention of it for Zelda, but Supermonkey Ball gets a call out? Really?

The Game & Watch thing is...ok, I guess. But to have NO other plans for either major series is such a "WTF?" scenario to me.

For the Zelda nerds:

Based on the new trailer, it looks like they might be tying Skyward Sword into BOTW.

Ie. the very first game in the timeline and the very last one.

Could that mean they're actually gonna start diving deep into the entire Zelda timeline? Tying them all together?

We've only ever had that enormous branching timeline that they show in the Zelda encyclopedia that they put out, but if they actually start tying that into the games themselves...that would be amazing.

If that's their plan, re-releasing Skyward Sword makes a lot of sense. I've got that on preorder and looking forward to playing it next month!

interesting. So I have not followed the timeline theories for nearly a decade now. Would that make the timeline more of a timeloop? Your screen shot has BOTW as the tie that brings the 3 timelines together. But if BOTW and SS are suppose to connect somehow, are you thinking BOTW2 is the precursor to SS?

I was just thinking they might show flashbacks and maybe fill in some of the gaps of time between Skyward Sword and BOTW. Maybe following a single branch, or maybe even hinting at multiple timelines which all converge before BOTW.

Either way, I'm very intrigued by where this is going story-wise.

I used to love discussing Zelda timelines (probably not the thread for that). While I think the loop seems interesting - it would really box them in. Though they were "boxed in" in the early 2000's and were able to get out of the box. So who knows.

I will say - not sure too much about the story line of BOTW2 (if you have info, please share), but not a big fan of a "2" in the franchise.

Kind of a disappointing E3 for Nintendo. Couldn't expect much from the pandemic though. Looking forward to Mario Golf next week! I like that they brought 2D Metroid back. 2022 will be a better year.

An OOT/MM full HD game would sell lots of copies. I'm wondering if Nintendo will hold a Zelda centered direct in a few months after Skyward Sword HD has been out for a while. Let that game get some solid sales before they risk people NOT purchasing that, but waiting for another whatever else they put out.

Id rather see more of the isometric ones myself, but that's personal preference.

It occurs to me, and I don't think I've seen it mentioned here, that in the BOWT2 trailer you never see Link's face other than a quick shot in the underground area. I've seen theories that it's actually Zelda in the sky and on the surface, or maybe Ganondorf from a different age. Not sure I agree with either of those, but it is intersting that you don't see his face at all.

Love Majora's Mask. Side questing was way ahead of its time in that game. Also think it has the best story of all the Zelda games. Dark and whimsical. How they pulled that off is beyond me. Twilight Princess' dark themes don't hold a candle to MM.
The soundtrack in MM is also a step above the rest.

OoT is my crown jewel, but there are many things about Majora's Mask that I love.

I share your love of MM.

Not really, I'm flying on Friday too. Went with the downloadable version. It's about 4 GB. I already have it preloaded.

Get an SD card for your switch and just do digital copies of games. You can have many games on one SD disk and you don't have to wait in line.

I love just closing a game and scrolling to another game to play. I don't mess with cartridges.

Reviews are out for Mario Golf and they're mixed. Sounds like the tennis game in lack of content at the beginning. There will be free updates with new players and courses added over the year.

So far Mario Golf ain't bad. Just got past the first tournament in the campaign with a -2 score. Will be trying the characters and online later today.

New Switch has been announced and oh boy is it underwhelming.

NOT Switch 2. Just another incremental upgrade. Introducing the Switch OLED...





Pretty damn disappointed and YouTube and Reddit seems to match my feelings. A new kickstand, OLED screen, and.....wired LAN port.

I've never put stock in the Switch Pro rumors that are constantly thrown around, so this is not a disappointment to me, per se. But it will be hard to justify spending $350 for a slightly bigger screen that outputs at the same resolution and some quality of life improvements.

But hey, if you never owned a Switch before, this is the one to get. Would have been nice to see at least 1080p in handheld mode if they are going to put an OLED on it though...

Kinda disappointed but on the bright side my wallet can breathe. Also, won't expect a new console for another 2 years.

Wish they improved the controller stick design.
