Has anyone tried a replacement dock case like this one? Since the OEM dock kind of sucks, you take all the guts out and put them in a smaller dock like this.

Just wondering if anyone had done it, how it's working out for them, and if there's a particular one you'd recommend. There's also a few on Thingiverse that i'm probably going to try to 3D print this weekend.

After 1 year, Minecraft Bedrock is finally here!

If you own Minecraft Switch Edition, this version is free and it's a separate game. Switch Edition will prompt you to go download in the menu.

I think I'm going to pull the trigger on the Switch today. There's a Prime Day "deal" with the console, a 64 GB microcard, and a $20 esShop voucher, for the normal price of the console. I've been eyeing it since I just got a bunch of Amazon gift cards, and this seems like as good a time as any. Just a few questions.

1. Is the 64 GB card enough, or will I need a larger one?
2. I have a 5-year old son who loves playing the NES and SNES classics I recently got. So far, he's really only played Kirby (decently) and Mario Kart (not decently) by himself. What would be your recommendation for the first game to get, since I'd like him to be able to play too?
3. Less importantly, color choice. Anybody have the neon joy-cons and wish you had gotten the gray? Or vice versa?

A 64gb card would probably get you by for a while. The Switch has ~25gb of usable internal storage. I would imagine a lot of the indie games come in under 1gb, Arms is 2.2gb, Splatoon 2 is 3.1gb, Super Mario Odyssey is 5.7gb, Zelda BOTW is 13.4GB. Just to give you a pretty rough idea of game sizes. So a 64gb card would fit a fair amount of games.

I saw a 200gb micro SD for $40 yesterday on Amazon, but unfortunately it looks like that deal is over.

Check out Splatoon 2 for your 5 year old.

After fence sitting on this since it's release, I pulled the trigger. Got a switch and MK8 and BotW. Very, very pleased with everything so far. I had not even seen a switch until it showed up for me so it was sight unseen.

Loving it.

Only hiccup so far is no browser. Which means any wifi connections that require a secondary login (like hotels or military bases) is a no go without jumping through hoops. Learned this the hard way.

It's actually a lot easier this time. There is a browser that pops up when you need to log into a hotel. I've done it many times on the road.

Thanks. I was on a base with non existent IT and no pop ups were happening at all. Then got to a hotel and the browser initiated then. All's well now!

Do love this little machine but had forgotten how expensive console gaming was. I'm normally a PC Master Race guy and can't remember the last time I paid more than $25 for a game.

My Switch is scheduled for delivery today. Along with: Mario Kart 8, Kirby (for my son), Odyssey, and DK Tropical Freeze (my wife used to play DK Country on the SNES, so this is in part for her). I'm excited to get this going this weekend.

Paladins is now free to play.

Fired up MK8 for the first time in a while just to check this out, was not disappointed, easily the best electronics purchase I've made in a in the last couple of years.

Everything I have seen is buy once, cry once. Sticker shock for sure. But wanted to see what yall thought anecdotally. Does it make THAT much of a difference? Especially if price is factored in for dude on a tighter budget than normal? I will say that the joy cons do lack from time to time for me but kinda used to it now I guess.

I almost never use the Joycons when I'm playing on my TV. The Pro controller is excellent and I consider it a must have if you're playing with the console docked for any significant amount of time, especially if you don't have tiny child hands.

Keep an eye out for sales. I've seen them for $55 fairly regularly, and i've seen them as low as $50 a couple of times.

Doom Eternal is coming to Switch! No release date yet. But good news on continued third party support.

BOTW - Struggling with whether or not to get it. I loved the original Zelda and Zelda 2, but have never gotten into RPGs and didn't get too far in Wind Waker before I got annoyed with it. But BOTW looks so much better. So my big question is, how close to the RPG style is it? If I hate those, will I hate this? Or is it a different animal altogether? It looks amazing, but I don't want to waste the money if I'm going to give up after a short while.

BOTW is an adventure game more than an RPG, there isn't a ton of point allocation non-sense, you don't really have to do much cooking (I didn't). You can pretty much just start playing, kill stuff and explore. I hate RPGs as well, can't fathom why people play Elder Scrolls or Witcher or any of the games with heavy point allocation non-sense and BOTW is the best game I've ever played.

I don't think you will be disappointed. There is a lot to do in the game and you can really do what you want in it. My whole family loves the game.

BotW is fantastic. You won't be disappointed.

Game looks dope. I'm pretty hyped.

Finally downloaded Rocket League on my Switch. Much easier to find time to play sitting on the couch with the family vs playing on the PS4 in our media room.


Maybe now I will get to a point where I don't suck at Rocket League.

But I doubt it

We're contemplating it for my twins' 8th birthday. So what's the best bundle out there? They rotate between a Wii, N64, Super NES and the retro NES so this would be a huge step up.

Bestbuy has a $30 off a game deal right now if you buy a Switch. There's a few select Nintendo games that qualify, I recommend Mario Odyssey.

I think the Civ VI announcement was supposed to be during the cancelled Nintendo Direct. Expect a new one to surface this month. Should address the Online Service. It will cost $20/yr per account to play online at the end of the month. $35/yr per Family of up to 7.
