On a related note, I cant believe I've been playing this game with you guys for 3 years....

I started the last PS4 page and was thinking the same thing. Keep all of this in one thread until closer to release date and then we can split up.

Man some crossplay of PC, Xboner, and PSNiner would be much appreciated.

But honestly - I knew what I was getting in BF1. The expense (and confusion) of the expansions for Destiny 1 where just awful.

It wasn't bad if you stuck with the expansions when they came out. This game is the best co-op experience on the market for console. As far as expense, it isn't much different than paying $40 a year for a new game, although the expansions were varied in scope and content. The Taken King was well worth the price tag, The story/quest lines were essentially an entire new game. A bunch of new weapons, missions, and modes, along with an outstanding raid. If you buy this game, you need to view it from a different lens from most other games.

Guess I'm in. The 1st game & expansion pissed me off so much that I decided to not give them any more of my money until they refreshed the game.

Well, here we are...

All my IRL friends ended up with Xboxes this gen. Same as last gen, actually.

General Notes:

• New Destiny 2 Themed Playstation 4 Pro
• Zavala, Ikora, Cayde "actually in the fight now"
• 4v4 pvp now.
• Trials, Nightfall, Raids have a form of matchmaking.
• Level and light level will be reset it looks like
• Beta available for everyone this summer
• PC version available exclusively on Blizzard's Battle.net

Gameplay Differences:

• Have another melee/grenade node but didn't catch what it does. (edit: "empowering rift", stand in it and do more damage presumably, "healing rift", regen your health/shield)
• HUD looks a bit different
• Enemies don't show levels
• Level 20 guardians.

Weapon Changes:

• No more Primary, Special, and Heavy. Instead, its Kinetic, Energy, and Power weapons.
• Power weapons seem to be a mix of special and heavy from D1. They include fusion rifles, sniper rifles, grenade launchers, etc.
• Kinetic and energy weapons are all from the same primary weapon pool (pulse, auto, hand cannon, etc. +Sidearms). Only difference seems to be if they have a burn on them they are considered an energy weapon.
• Minigun type weapon (not sure where it fits)
• Weapon Mods are a thing.
• New perk includes losing unspent ammo on reload but reload quicker (no thank you)
• They are now classified as adaptive (well rounded), aggressive (high damage/high recoil), precision (vertical recoil), etc.
• Swords should be making a comeback as its a pre-order bonus.

Subclasses:

• Dawnblade - Solar - Warlock - float in the air and throw waves of fire (like Bolt-Caster)
• Sentinel - Void - Titan - Works like VoG Relic (bash, walking shield, etc.) Can also throw it and it'll ricochet off enemies..
• Arcstrider - Arc - Hunter - mystical staff, run around like an acrobat, can slam, etc.

Mission Gameplay:

• Mission at the tower during the attack.
• Zavala puts down a bubble.
• sweeper bot still sweeping.
• Speaker is missing.
• Head into that gate north of the speaker (where Xur sometimes stands)
• Dubious volley type rocket launcher (multiple quick projectiles)
• Amanda Holliday picks you up in her ship.
• Drops you off on a cabal drop ship.
• mini boss level enemy. (bascially between yellow bar and boss level, didn't look too bad)
• Get to see Ghoul (badass voice btw)
• We lose and they put a "cage" around the traveler separating us from its light
• We have our weapons and powers taken away.

Story Background:

• Ghoul and Red Legion believe Traveller should have given the Cabal it's light.
• Ikora runs away, Zavala has an existential crisis, Cayde goes all hero mode.
• We must travel to new planets to bring the Vanguard back together.

• 4v4 in all game modes
• new hud shows if they have super/power ammo/etc.
• new maps and new modes
• mode (countdown) - attack/defend game type

• Launch all activities without going to orbit
• Public events with heroic objectives

• Lost Sectors to discover (treasure box at the end)
• Choose a landing zone
• NPCs around the world to give side quests and mark your maps
• New map shows when and where things will happen (like public events)
• Nessus, Titan, Io, and Earth (new playspaces)
• Director basically in your pause menu. Don't have to go to orbit to fly to a new planet.
