Getting Sewell would be huge, the last few years have shown that Smith isn't capable of playing even 75% of a season and you would be getting an immediate impact replacement for your cornerstone tackle of the last decade.

If Dallas were to be in position for #2 I think trading back to a QB hungry team for multiple picks would be smarter than drafting Fields.

I would take Fields personally. Love Dak, but his pending contract will cripple this team in combination with the other terrible contracts in place. Take that money saved and go get some talent in free agency at defense and draft Tyron's replacement in the 2nd/ 3rd round.

There was a dirty hit in the Panthers-Falcons game on Teddy Bridgewater. The Panthers immediately come to his defense and pounce on the offenders. Would've loved to have seen this kind of fight from our guys this past weekend.

Truly think Jerry is one of the worst GMs in the NFL. Zero line depth but smirking about signing Dalton as a steal in the offseason. I know the offense puts up numbers but I do not think Kellen Moore is anything close to a must have offensive genius. He's getting the Jason Garrett treatment

Not many teams have 10 quality offensive lineman on the roster.
4 starters being out is unheard of
Lots to complain about but this is bottom of the list as the cowboys picks at OL have been superb

That's a valid point but I for one am sick of giving Jerry et al the injury excuse. Nobody is hurt on defense and they are historically terrible. That is the GM's fault. Jerry sucks at his job
The problem with the Dallas Cowboys is they always go for the flash. They almost never have an elite, or even just an above average defense.

That being said I don't have a problem with the CD Lamb pick......... but knowing the Cowboys..... some defensive player picked within 5 spots of Lamb will be All Pro by his 3rd year.

The Cowboys finished the 2009 season with the #2 ranked defense in the NFL. They have not had a top 5 defense since, and I highly doubt too many of their defenses have even been in the top 10.

Who's the last great defensive player the Cowboys had?

That was probably DeMarcus Ware.....and that was almost 10 years ago when he was last an elite player.

Jay Ratliff is the last great defensive lineman and Darren Woodson the last great safety. Everyone since then has been nothing more than average.

Wasting a 1st round pick on a quarterback(when you already have a great one) when you have the worst defense in the NFL is something the Cowboys would probably do.

I'm tired of hearing about salary cap and what Dak does or does not earn.

The Cowboys need to draft a defensive player that can become a perennial Pro Bowler, All Pro...possible hall of Famer.

Its been years since I seen elite defensive talent on the Cowboys team.
The Cowboys need the next JJ Watt, Aaron Donald, Luke Kuechly or Buddha Baker level of talent.

That is what I want with a top 10 pick.

Von Miller or Myles Garrett could've fit in that group. Just sayin'

When did Buddha Baker become a hallbof fame player?
Was that before or after he got caught from behind?

He's been to two pro bowls in his first three years in the league and was on an all pro team as a special teamer. He is an excellent safety, not sure we have had anyone that could hold his jockstrap in the last 10-15 years lol

Jeff Heath is an excellent jock strap holder

Its hard to ever become a great team when you suck at evaluating your own players.

Well the guy with the final word is a 77 year old with divided attention. So it's not hard to see why

True.
DeMarcus Ware in 2011 or 2012 is the last defensive player the Cowboys have had with that level of talent.

If Sean Lee is the best player on your defense you are not going that far in the playoffs.

The Cowboys ALWAYS whiff and go cheap on their defense.

Kind of scary that he is so far removed from the team that it is easy to forget he was a Cowboy

Lawrence was top notch during his contract year. Unfortunately that was the only time he looked amazing. The Cowboys make the fan mistake of paying people based on their best year and not their whole body of work.

Parcells drafted Ware, Spears, Canty, Hatcher and Ratliff over two drafts. That is some serious defensive line talent right there. Of course he also drafted Felix Jones way too early and how can we forget about first round pick Bobby Carpenter.

He also wanted Spears over Ware in that first round. Thankfully Jerry overruled him on that one.

I remember watching that draft.

High fiving and celebrating when he fell to us.

No no, pass. Jones in the 2nd round please.

If Dak doesn't agree to a significant hometown discount before the draft I hope they move on and take a quarterback and spend that money on the defense

They need their picks for defense. Most high $$$ UFA's are bad deals because teams tag the guys worth keeping. The only thing your strategy would result in is more Jaylon and DLaw type players on defense.

Gotta love these Sunday nights matchups of two awful teams on the national stage
CNN is an enemy of the state and should be treated as such.

I refuse to watch a single second of that game. They should be able to shuffle around times a week out if its apparent its gonna be a horrible game. This cowboys team is deserving of only noon games going forward. We deserve zero prime time spots

If you look at a majority of D-Law's sacks his contract year he's beating his blocker because a DT running a stunt is engaging his blocker.
I also wouldn't be surprised that he was taking some supplements because he had a burst off the ball he didn't have in previous seasons.

Diggs with 2 picks tonight, Dono with a strip sack. Nice to see the D create some turnovers and at least show some heart even if it was against the kings of the trash mountain that is the NFCE.
