Taysom is being payed over 16 M next year (not a typo). They're in a cap mess so I'm not sure they'll be able to afford Jamies. Now they probably won't trade him to us since we're in the NFC but it's worth making a call. My prediction before the season was that Jamies would take over for Brees because I think he's washed up. We'll see.
I too think Jameis will be Brees' successor. Not sure if they would do that this year or when Brees retires...he is only on a $1million 1 year deal right now. Curious what he would fetch in FA. I don't expect any miracles, but with a compressed offseason, new system, no preseason games, and the fact starters get all of the weekly reps, I was not surprised that Dalton looked very rusty in how he was seeing the field. He made some pretty good throws at times. I think the repetition will help

When you look at the injuries, the team being unprepared, and all the bad luck. Missing out on a training camp might have hurt us more than any other team. Lets just get the best draft pick possible at this point. There is no sense in wanting to make the playoffs with an offensive line of Williams, mcquistian, and 2 UDFA

Mike Mccarthy isn't fumbling the ball and making some very basic football 101 mistakes that I see this team constantly doing. That talk is a copout
The NFC East drawing the 2 best divisions in football this year are compounding the record setting losses
Each team is gonna get hit with 6 to 8 losses from the NFC West and AFC Central
The Cowboys are done and need to get rid of the entire coaching staff.

Dalton looked awful. Some of those passes were right to the defenders. Good new is that he has tons of tape and he's not a bad QB. Just had a bad day in a new system on a new team.Macarthur said:

And I said Andy didn't look good, but he was under assault all night long. That's going to affect any QB.
As for safety, I think you owe it to your fans to not stand pat and try to get better. Again, this team, as crazy as it sounds, is in first place. The division can be won with some gradual improvement as the season goes along. Diggs is going to get better. Chido is going to come back, at some point.

is a heck of a lot better than what they are throwing out there now. I think you saw with those first three series that the defense can be serviceable and with some additions, maybe slightly above serviceable. In a division that it looks like the fist one to 7 wins takes the division, you owe it to the fans to give it a shot. I also think that it is reasonable to think that as the year goes on, the defense can get better in a new system after more practice under their belt. I mean guys like Tank, Everson Griffin, A. Smith and R. Gregory coming back, I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that this defense can get better with some back end help.

You have a Super Bowl winning head coach with Rodgers as his QB who was run out of Green Bay. The media painted this as the narcissistic QB who couldn't get along with his HC. The fact is McCarthy has no people or management skills who is a mediocre coach at best . This will become more evident to Dallas fans as the season progresses. Jerruh has made yet another hiring mistake. The locker room is imploding and McCarthy hasn't the slightest idea how to fix it.

I've only been to one Cowboys game and sat at the top level. I felt like I was back in High School. The only way I am going back there is if I have a suite and don't have to interact with the normies.

well all I know is Garret was a whipping boy on here for many years and they seem significantly worse coached now. Monday was one of the worst games I've witnessed in a while.

Sturm brought up a good point yesterday is slight defense of the players.
Tank & E. Griffin are two guys that have been very successful in this league as true DE's with their hand in the dirt. They are now being asked to play a hybrid system that calls for them to be in a two point sometimes and sometimes do LBer things. Some of these guys are being asked to do things they have never done, and oh by the way, there was zero off season and training camp. I do think this plays into it.

Like Saban as much as anyone, but he wasn't exactly a success in the league.
If we're talking about dreams, why not pick up the phone and call Belichick. I'm sure Bill is frustrated with his QB situation. Dallas has a great QB. Bill may want to prove his genius one more time before he retires by taking another franchise to the mountaintop. Bill comes into a situation with a very good QB and fixes the D and the culture.
As long as we're throwing out crazy ideas.
