Looks like we're going to be able to get a good safety at 51 as there still hasn't been one taken. McKinney, Delpit, Winfield, Chinn all still on the board.
They may happen, sure but the point remains you don't invest in a first round pick based on one preseason

My only worry about Lamb is that for a position that is historically hard to break through as a rookie, this COVID offseason is going to make it even tougher. Could be one reason he fell a bit. But i still make that pick at 17 all day every day.

But, there may be a run on them right before the cowboys pick. I've seen it happen before.
Only four DL were taken in Rd 1 so there will be a run on them in the 2nd IMO. Pass rushers are going to fly off the board quick so we may get lucky at 51 with one of the four falling to us.

remember the Kavika Pittman "we had several teams call us and tell us we got the absolute steal of the draft" or the Shante Carver "he was in our top 10 overall on the board and we had to find a way to get him at #23"
And even if he was a first round talent, I still think it's a terrible pick.
They were in the NFC championship game last year. Isn't trying to capitalize on Rogers last few years more important than making sure you have your quarterback 2023?
And I get that you can argue that work the last time I did it because Rogers won a super bowl, but they also essentially stopped their window to win for several years. Catching lightning in a bottle twice doesn't seem likely.

not a fan of rodgers or the packers at all so i enjoyed their draft very much. really wish i could have seen rodgers' reaction.
This kinda feels like Calvin Ridley Pick, Atlanta wasn't unstoppable after that pickup

I know what you mean... only so many balls to go around. But keep in mind that Lamb was a better prospect than Ridley and Lamb is a true #1 which Ridley is not.
I also don't think it's about making WRs unstoppable... it's about not having to worry about that position for a few years. We are set! When you reach for position (like Taco) you end up not getting a great player and find yourself still trying to fill the spot a few years later.
But if 3 wide becomes our new base offense with Zeke / Pollard in the backfield and an athletic tight end.... well... good luck with that defenses.

He'll make the contested catches all over the field & will never short arm a pass when he's expecting contact. He will pop right up & flex every time he does takes a big hit. I think this pick helps our offense be more consistent & reduces the NFL leading drop numbers we had last year. Not to mention that now you can't stack the box to stop the run & if you do then we will light your azz up throwing the ball.
