Always funny how both sides of the political spectrum are okay with destruction of property, as long as that destruction aligns with their beliefs.

Don't like the cameras, get local and state lawmakers to ban or heavily restrict them.

I'm sorry, where did the public get to have a say in Flok cameras watching their every move? Did the local and state lawmakers provide a transparent process to let the public know about this?

No they are All bought off

Also a seperqte observation but if a topic can get a consensus on the United States these days then damn what does that say? No one thinks tbis is legal or should be alllwed. Violation of 4th amendment.

See how the comments go for the good constable with this one. Posted on the "old people" social media this morning.

FB -- Harris County Precinct 4 Constable

Looks like based on the DeFlock page this lone camera was hit from its blindside. The camera was facing into the subdivision.

A deputy from the Johnson County Sheriff's Office, Texas, recently searched across 83,000 cameras for a woman whom he believed had had an abortion. The episode sparked anger against Flock cameras, which are increasingly seen as violating the privacy of people in Texas and other states.

As reported by Gadget Review, a local Texas deputy used Flock Safety's "National Lookup" system to search cameras across 6,809 networks shared by law enforcement. Documents showed that the officer wrote "had an abortion, search for female" in the network, querying over 83,000 cameras across the country, including in states where abortion is legal.

All police agencies that use Flock's system have access to it, which shares over 75% of all footage from participating districts. Flock cameras can identify people using license plates, timestamps, location, direction of travel, and more. For the so-called "broader searches," no warrant is needed, and officers only have to provide a justification, which can be as vague as "investigation."

That article doesn't say any reason why the officer was searching for that person. Did they break the law?

Your every movement can already be tracked by AI and any law enforcement department in the nation, and could be long before Flock cameras.

The FBI could, right now, map out your exact movements on August 19th of 2024. Your location and activity every second of the day could be immediately identified. Literally your entire life is already tracked.

So i should just lie back and enjoy it then? Govern me harder daddy! Give me more shots too!

I always love the commentary from the folks who have just thrown in the towel and use the same old: "Since you have a cell phone, you should just accept ever increasing encroachment on your freedoms. Because of cell phones, we must now accept tyranny and oppression in perpetuity."

F* that. It's cowardice and laziness.

Yeah well. The brake checker didnt get hit. My "bum" buddy got rear ended. The whole thing was witnessed but only the cameras were able to identify the culprit. I dont understand why any law abiding citizen would get worked up about it

Require flock cameras to provide overwatch on "secure" ballot drop boxes in any state and watch this blow up into Krakatoa territory among the WWE-style legislature that we currently have.

Who knows, let's just do it. Couldn't possibly cause any harm, because voter fraud is so non-existent, right?

We also have the freedom to choose to not use smartphones

And upon what are we basing that choice?

"I want it"
"It's so cool"
"I'm not gonna do anything wrong"

And what's the definition of wrong, as it says in an earlier post?

And you can confirm that all those people who operate the systems are very honest and altruistic? That they will not access the phone info for their own nefarious purposes? And that legit law authorities will secure a judge approved Warrant before grabbing the data? Or better, a Subpoena, so you get notified before hand?

How about this, when you purchase the phone, you read and sign a waiver that you recognize the right of Flock, their licensed users, or other third parties, whether for legitimate or nefarious purposes, to access, lift or remove
--- without your knowledge--- any or all of your data stored on the phone.

And, not some Sentence, buried within a Paragraph, Part of a Clause, in Article 15 of a 30 Article User Agreement, but a single sentence on a single page...

Quote:

You hereby accept that you recognize the right of Flock, their licensed users, or other third parties, whether for legitimate or nefarious purposes, to access, lift or remove
--- without your knowledge--- any or all of your data stored on the phone, that you are knowingly waiving your Rights under the First, Fourth and Fifth Amendments of the Constitution.

Go ahead, make my day by agreeing to that.

Freedom (https://ahdictionary.com/word/search.html)
Being free of restraints... ability to act without control or interference by another or circumstance... not bound by established conventions or rules...

* I can turn right from the left lane without signaling...
* I can hit you with a baseball bat...

Liberty is Freedom, restrained by rules, laws, The Ten Commandments and the Golden Rule

Im still struggling with this being on a ranch road that ends up not even being paved. (It does end up intersecting I10)

Sure, 5 years ago they used it for smuggling illegals but they stopped doing that after county sheriffs and DPS camped it. Now my alternative to cartel traffic is being tracked every single time I go to and from the ranch?

I dont know if they have more cameras farther down the ranch road but it isn't very hard to figure out where I'd be even with the one camera since the only people who go down the road are either oil and gas, ranchers, or hunters
